Share us your inspiration to establish Artsmith.
Let me recollect my journey so far. Firstly about my education I pursued Honours in Comparative Literature at Jadavpur University, followed by Master’s in Mass Communication at Symbiosis International University and Chevening Scholarship in Advance Broadcast Journalism at Cardiff University. My career also simultaneously started as a Cub Reporter at Asian Age in 1999 and later on I worked with Zee News and Star News(India’s First 24-Hour Hindi News Channel). After a span of 11 years, I quit Star News right after India won the World Cup, and
moved on to establish Artsmith in 2011.

If you ask why, I’d say it was because during my journey as a journalist in sports domain for almost 16 years, I observed that most of the PRs had no clue about what they were doing or what’s happening in the country. I also realized that I had to step out of journalism and contribute concrete works across sports communication by narrating the untold success stories and achievements of sports professionals to the world. From associating with the first client, Badminton Association of India, to many Sports Federations and Top Olympic Sports Badminton, Boxing, Wrestling, Tennis & others; we, at Artsmith, have walked and grown in tandem with the sports industry so far.

Did you face any challenges during your firm’s establishment?
Initially, we had to face a lot of challenges with regards to raising funds, building the system and most importantly, infusing the right belief among our clients. Thankfully, a lot of people trusted me as a journalist and even when I transitioned into the PR world. That trust factor from my family, team as well as clients bestowed me a great leap of faith to pursue my dreams. With rigorous learning, help from media friends and faith from clients, we, as an agency, are growing by leaps and bounds since the inception.

How has the journey of Artsmith been so far?
Well, we started off as an extended arm of our clients by comprehending their requirements and creating engaging content through PR and Social Media. This way, we evolved into storytellers who created effective stories for building clients’ brands. With journalism as our background and profound passion for sports we understand each client’s requirement from both standpoints and thus, create stories imparting quality and not mere quantity. Clearly, under standing the content and our clients’ psyche is our USP as we hold 20+ years of experience
in serving diverse clients, which not many agencies in the industry possess. That’s how we know what works, what doesn’t and how to make it work! Moreover, we stand out as an epitome of credibility as the media trusts us with our content, while constantly breathing the tagline concepts & visions.

Today, we take utmost pride in outshining as a one-stop-solution provider right from the point of conceptualization till execution with unmatched seamlessness as opposed to a multi dimensional PR agency. Some of our clients include leading national & regional dailies and television in India as well as in abroad.

Walk us through some of your current and future works.
We are currently working with a few partners to create tangible and directional business models for our clients and not just perceptions and reports. We also envision bringing all the leading sports professionals onto an interactive technology driven and content savvy platform which they can leverage to the fullest.

During 2020-21 we aspire to focus on football and emerge into a 360-degree digital firm that produces more aggressive and robust works. It is through constant reading, networking and personally engagement with young professionals, we aim to stay abreast and also accomplish our future plans.
