You are a renowned name in the dental world. Tell us more about your qualification & experience.
I have always believed in leaving the world a better place than when I found it. With this maxim in mind, I have carved my professional journey to impact different factions of society that I have been part of from patients to dentists and even those who cannot afford the care.

I have spent years studying, upgrading and perfecting the art & science of dentistry. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and multiple international courses, which gave me the confidence to deal with any kind of dental malady. I continue to sharpen my skills as a dentist and an entrepreneur. In 2009, I established Smile Essentials for phobic patients, and then established India’s first All Dental NGO Angel Dentists Network in 2015 for underprivileged. Later in 2019, I co-founded RYS University – an education initiative to train dentists in the specialized skills of dentistry and practice management.

Your specialization is pain-free dentistry. Could you highlight more about this specialty and how do you ensure pain-free service to your clients?
I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of setting up my own brand, and in the process created my own niche of Pain Free Dentistry to make a much-needed change in dentistry. My foray in this field has taught me many priceless lessons and a decade later it feels like my journey has only begun.

I strongly feel that dentists should NOT be feared and dentistry shouldn’t be avoided till an emergency and at The Painfree Dentist, we are doing everything we can to bring about a radical shift in people’s perception of dentistry. With state-of-the-art facilities, modern technology, equipment and experienced staff, we promise our patients a pain-free world-class treatment.

It is our company’s mission to create a new niche in dentistry, and therefore have rebranded it to The Painfree Dentist – Dr. Diksha Batra, with an aim to provide pain-free, time effective and cost-effective services. To achieve this, my staff provides a comfortable, relaxed, calm place, which help us customize their painless treatment. I even recommend a tele consultation to discuss their particular concerns before making the appointment. Hence, I always select and train my staff to provide the patients with compassionate, friendly and empathetic care. At my practice, we comfort the patient so that the dental experience at the chair is an indulgent and exuberant one. An ambient to comfort the patient without unpleasant hospital like smells, comforting music and a LED above the dental chair to ensure that the patient has the best experience ever.

This is quite a unique approach. Kindly tell more about your unique proposition.
It has always been my aim to defy the standard image of a doctor or dentist since people find this hard to approach. Dentistry is an intimate experience that requires a lot of trust from a patient. Hence your dentist should be extremely approachable, relatable, and trustworthy allowing you to relax and let go off that fear & apprehension.

I don’t claim to be better than any other dentist, but all my efforts have always been synchronized to create an approachable image and break the mould of a cold unfriendly dentist. We also educate readers
about dental health through our website and our videos aim to deal with their anxiety and educate them of the various latest procedures, dental products & equipment, which take the pain away completely.

Family plays an important role in every person’s life. How has your family supported you in your dream and how do you balance work-life?
My family have been very supportive of all my dreams.. To me work life balance is a myth –
My mantra to WORK (something you love doing daily)

and LIFE (all that you absolutely love doing ) is really a struggle between things you love eventually so to me there is no downside if you lose balance.

Your experience is valuable to the industry. Do you participate in any mentorship program to share your wisdom?
I had the honor of being the keynote speaker at the World Dental Show 2019 to discuss the ‘Must learn Personal Skills for Every Dentists to be practice ready’. My husband & I together founded RYS University with an aim to help dentists excel by bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and real-world application to patient care.

Words of Wisdom:
Think different, do something unconventional and out-of-the-box as lately the so-called competition has increased. Many people are choosing the usual dental course but if you do something to add knowledge to solve an issue/problem in the dental industry, then definitely there is no competition for you. There will be a clear path to success if you take the road less travelled.
