Enabling him to intern with some of the best law firms and counsels, Symbiosis International University, Pune has garnered his expertise and strengthened his confidence as one of the budding stalwarts of the legal domain.

Define Triumph Legal as an organization andwhere is it positioned in the industry? What are the company’s greatest strengths and unique propositions that it offers to its clients?
Triumph Legal was incepted in 2015 by me and my Partner Vardhman Kaushik who was my senior in law school. Starting our journey with just one office from Delhi, we gradually set up 2 more in Mumbai in Jabalpur. In a brief span of 7 years, we are currently on the panel of 35 plus corporate houses and providing a one-roof solution to the legal requirements of our clients across 13 states in India. Our journey has been quite thrilling and
we have made significant progress all these years. Bestowed with the Rising Law Firm of the Year (2021) award by the Corporate Counsels Association of India where the selection was done by a team of esteemed jurists headed by Hon'ble Chief Justice of India(Retd.)Mr. Dipak Mishra, we consider it as one of the significant milestones of our journey so far.

The goal is to keep up with this momentum for we cannot halt and rest on our laurels, particularly in a competitive industry like ours

Reflect on some of the major challenges you have experienced so far? How did you overcome them and what did you learn from them?
One of the biggest challenges for the current generation of young lawyers is working for clients, particularly corporate houses and to win their confidence. The general notion in India is that quality and cutting-edge services can only be availed from senior professionals and this ‘mindset change’ is what we intended to achieve. It gives me immense pride and satisfaction to state that, through our belief, hardwork, and successful execution of various challenging assignments we have demonstrated to our client base that we are at par with tier 1 firms. The goal is to keep up with this momentum for we cannot halt and rest on our laurels, particularly in a competitive industry like ours.

In your professional journey so far, which are the milestones that have bestowed you with utmost satisfaction? Also shed some lights on Air Pollution mitigation strategy for Delhi NCR.
Starting our journey from one or two companies, we are currently serving 35 corporate houses and PSUs, and this demonstrates satisfactory and exponential growth. Since the entire world including the Indian legal industry is coming to terms with the new work dynamics across a post lockdown covid era, we have adapted to the changed realities. Synergising and adapting to hybrid functioning, we have managed to empanel with newer clients and corporates, simultaneously delivering remarkable success. Envisaging growth during the lockdown, we have ventured into providing services in e-commerce, telecom, and media. Having a network of lawyers in 13 states has further enhanced our capability to take up a variety of assignments as
well as our potential on deliverables and we are willing to take up any assignments in major cities of the country at present.

Secondly, the litigation and arbitration practice of the firm has exposed us to a variety of cases. From being part of Constitution Bench cases to conducting cases on new laws such as RERA or IBC, the firm has a footprint everywhere. We have been part of some of the leading litigation in the country ranging from corporate insolvency to environmental issues. For over 5 years now, the firm has concluded around 4000 arbitrations annually for various clients and we continued to do the same in the year 2020-21 as well. Adapting to an online dispute resolution mechanism was a remarkable feat for the arbitration team of Triumph Legal.

We have played a significant role in the paradigm shift in the Air Pollution mitigation strategy for Delhi NCR and the banning of Diesel vehicles older than 10 years in Delhi NCR. The formulation of the Graded Action Response mechanism including odd even usage of cars is all a consequence of the landmark Vardhman Kaushik v. Union of India case before the NGT and then the Supreme Court. The case was filed by my Partner Mr. Vardhman Kaushik and as a petitioner, he has heralded monumental changes in the environment as well as the automobile sector.

Going forward, what are the goals that you wish to invest in and how do you plan to take them further?
Having established a robust presence in 13 states in India so far, the firm intends to expand its services to more Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. We want to bridge the gap between the scope and quality of legal services available to corporate as well as individual clients in metro and non-metro cities. With an international office, our goal is to expand our practice to international markets as well. It is a work in progress but we are hopeful and working in pursuit of these targets.
