Tripti Devleker

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Breaking boundaries and bamboo ceilings, Indians are increasingly recognized as business torch-bearers around the world. From Indra Nooyi to Leena Nair, several Indian origin leaders have blazed the trail and successfully reached the top of their business careers. While we continue to celebrate their corporate successes, we take pride in appreciating many unsung heroes who choose to pursue the less charted paths in entrepreneurship. Tripti Devleker is one such leader who deserves recognition for her outstanding journey as a female foreign entrepreneur in Singapore.

With over 15 years of experience in Singapore, Tripti is driving breakthroughs in Technology, Digital Leadership, and Executive Search. Through her business Newbridge Alliance, she is bringing trust and transparency in Executive Search, Board Consulting, and Leadership Strategy services. Today, the firm has evolved into a recruitment powerhouse widely recognized for managing senior executive searches in the technology space.

In the exclusive interview with CEO Insights Tripti Devleker shares insightful aspects of her career as a leader. Below are the excerpts from the interview.

Could you give a brief account of your expertise?
For the last decade and a half in Singapore, I have played leadership roles in advisory, consulting and executive recruiting for businesses across a spectrum of industries. In addition to leadership and responsibilities at Newbridge, I have already regularly advised clients on
upholding bold and innovative leadership recruiting, succession planning, and also culture building to develop a more, diverse, agile, and high performing leadership team.

What inspired you to establish Newbridge Alliance and what drives you today? What makes the company unique from the other competitors?
My vision was to create a business that has a conducive and safe workplace for people to perform. Focus on overall growth flexibility by providing them with enough room to test and try out their ideas. At Newbridge, people can share their ideas and concerns, without fear of reprisal. They have been encouraged to speak up and we will embrace ideas that grow our practice, culture, and hopefully, our business. Not all ideas work but we fail fast and learn quickly. Everyone can have a great career with New bridge because we are not just driven by monetary deliverables.

It is mutual trust that holds business associations together

Newbridge is also committed to ensuring client service that is creative and responsive. Our expertise lies in technology, cybersecurity, risk management, and succession planning.

Elaborate about the technology framework built within the company’s solutions and which are the latest technology trends that the company is planning to adopt.
As we know, there has always been a constant demand for top talent with the rapid technological advances and industry changes. We are technology adopters ourselves. We have been investing in new generation AI driven software, which helps with the screening of candidates by filtering less qualified candidates. In a world where data is paramount, our product harnesses the power of data analytics to assess the suitability of our candidates. This helps clients to have a better understanding of candidates' professional profiles.
Tell us about your leadership approach, and the guidelines or methodologies you follow to lead your team.
My core guiding principle is transparency and equality. We believe in treating others the way we like to be treated. We consider all our employees as equals, as our business partners. It is important that everyone has the same opportunities, regardless of profile or qualifications. Progress must always be based on meritocracy. Also, I believe leaders can be nurtured. Good leaders have the capacity to assess situations, trouble shoot and solve problems by working with people.

Having leaders with such capabilities is fundamental to our business. To ensure we have bench strength, I continue to mentor the next generation of leaders in my team.

Going forward, what are the changes in market behaviour that you anticipate, and what are the opportunities that you foresee?
There are currently many opportunities in the financial services sector. We see talent shortages in other developing countries, but not as acute in Singapore. There has been more interest from overseas candidates who have moved out of Singapore or Hong Kong previously and now want to return. Across the board, there is rising demand for ABCD(AI, Blockchain, Cyber security, Data science) skills in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
