Separator

ImgIn today’s fast-paced world with never-ending work demands, where decisions are made on tight deadlines, finding time to de-stress is essential for both professional and personal success. Business leaders often face immense pressure to constantly perform at their full capacity. However, the key to long-term productivity and effective leadership lies in the ability to take a break, recharge, and return with a renewed perspective. Vacations tailored for relaxation and reflection offer the perfect solution for business travelers looking to escape the grind and rejuvenate. Let us introduce you to some of the unique and unexplored places in Karnataka.

Kurinjal Peak

A prominent hill located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, specifically in the Kudremukh National Park region, Kurinjal Peak is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Chikkamagaluru district. Known for its scenic beauty and rich biodiversity, Kurinjal Peak is one of the popular trekking destinations for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. It offers a moderate to challenging trek experience. The journey takes you through dense forests, diverse flora, and fauna, including various species of birds and animals, to name a few, the endangered lion-tailed macaque and malabar giant squirrel. The trek offers a serene escape amidst nature and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including other peaks in the Kudremukh range. The scenic view from the top is mind-blowing and is recommended to all hodophiles.

The best time to visit Kurinjal Peak for trekking is during the post-monsoon season (October to March) when the weather is pleasant and the trails are safer. The monsoon season (June to September) can make the trails slippery and challenging. So it's advisable to avoid visiting during heavy rains. Kurinjal is well connected by both road and rail. From Chikkamagaluru, it takes about 1-2 hours by car to reach the base of the trek, and the nearest railway station is Mangalore, which is about 120 km away.

While at Kurinjal Peak, visitors can explore other nearby attractions such as:

  • Kudremukh National Park – A haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
  • Kudremukh Peak – Another popular trekking destination located nearby.
  • Hanuman Gundi Waterfalls – A beautiful waterfall near the park that is ideal for a quick visit.

Kurinjal Peak offers a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and serenity.

Whether you're an avid trekker or simply a nature enthusiast, this peak in the Western Ghats provides an ideal getaway from the bustle of daily life. Its breathtaking views and the calm of the surrounding forests make it a must-visit destination for those seeking an escape into nature.

Japadakatte

The unknown and ancient Japadakatte, situated on the banks of the river Kavery (in Saraguru town, Arakalgud Taluq, Hassan District), is about 70km from Mysuru, 3km from Keralapura village. Home of Lord Japeshwara (one of the forms of Lord Shiva).

It is believed that Lord Sri Ram, while on the way to Lanka, visited this place and worshipped Lord Jappeshwara. The idols of Lord Jappeshwara, Gangadhareshwara, Goddess Sharadamba, and Jagadguru Sri Shankaracharya are present here. It is also believed that Jabala Maharshi has performed tapas here. The majestic river Kavery that flows beside this temple is ideal for Swimming, Photography and playing in the water. You can also fish a little bit far from this temple. Overall, the blessings of Lord Japeshwara and the calm, peaceful picnic atmosphere of this place make this a must-visit with friends and family. The ideal time to visit this place is between post-monsoon and pre-summer, i.e., October to March. The location is well connected by both road and rail. However, going by own/rental vehicle would be ideal.

Devarayana Durga and Namada Chilume

When you realize it's weekend, a common notion is that weekends are meant for road trips. It is time for all the family members to cut the routine, take a break, relax, recharge, and refresh to face the new week. However, nowadays, due to the population explosion, finding a quiet place, even in weekend destinations, has become impossible as it gets overcrowded. Devarayana Durga, popularly known as DD Hills, is one of the best tourist spots for one-day outings. The main attractions here are Bhoga Narasimha Swamy Temple (hill bottom), Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple (hilltop), View Points, Namada Chilume (Deer Park and Historical Place related to Lord Rama), Forest Road, etc. The best time to visit DD Hills is in the morning, preferably to see the sunrise on the hilltop. Nearby, you can find Namada Chilume (Deer Park), which has a small, continuously flowing stream that holds a significant connection with Ramayana. If you love to go on a road trip and enjoy nature with less crowd, DD Hills is a highly recommended place.
