I'm a science and law graduate along with MBA in marketing and sales degree. I was into Market Research Organization (MRO), Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), Human Resource Out-sourcing (HRO), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and more during the commencement of my career with IBM (Year-2006) as a Tech Support before getting pro-moted to Quality Lead. During that time Six Sigma was booming significantly, like any other enthusiastic graduate, I went for Yellow Belt Six Sigma training/certification & completed projects while working for IBM, and further enrolled for Six Sigma Black Belt from the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI).

Soon I joined Salesify (known As Ziff Davis) I happened to work for multiple departments from Operations, Quality, Delivery, Account Management, Sales as an Operations Director, Ac-count Director and Sales Director, I successfully handled Salesify’s Philippines Center from (Year 2014 – 2018) & came back to India and managed 22 critical accounts for Salesify. But later, things soon took a drastic U-turn as Salesify acquired Demand Shore and merged with entire management from the acquired company took over and lay off started, Indirectly or Directly, I too was the victim. Later, I worked as an Independent Contractor & I managed to rise above everything and laid the foundation of Melbarr ITES. Growing exponentially, it has been our second year since then and we have already formed a second company before we could complete one year.

It’s no more a secret the pandemic is posing unprecedented challenges to businesses of all shapes and sizes. For startups in the most vulnerable stage of their development, however, it is an existential crisis - and one that may prove to have significant ramifications on the economy and job market for many years to come. Combined, huge shifts in B2B consumer behavior and buying power and office shutdowns, no in-person meetings, seminars, roadshows have forced companies across the globe into an “adapt or get lost” situation, with survival depending on the rapid embrace of digital technologies. However, Melbarr’s ecosystem has been continuously striving to adapt to the present situation as flexibly as possible, by focusing on the need to innovate and diversify our business techniques and its operations.

What were the challenges faced by Melbarr ITES in the initial days of establishment? How did you overcome those challenges to be a recognized name in this industry?
We officially started the company around the 27th of Feb 2020 and prior to that, the basic ground-work was done. Building every-thing from scratch and I paid detailed attention to everything as I could, starting from the CCTVs, interior design, workplace accessories, and so on. I wanted to create a distinctive environment for my employees that will motivate and encourage them to perform. But the Covid struck us in the worst possible
manner as I had made a couple of visits to meet our clients abroad. Soon things started to fall in place as we got support from everybody including our clients and my family. I took the initiative of dividing my workforce into two parts, comprising of raw talents and highly experienced professionals by avoiding the mediocre.

Contrary to the common industrial belief where freshers are often avoided while hiring, we started the training and invested in them. This was one of my best shots, as they supported me consistently working remotely even during the lockdown and then returning to the office when it's required. Handling finance was a bit difficult for me as I be-long to a middle-class family but got a grip over it as soon as I could and decided to pursue my journey as an independent entrepreneur. I implemented the same process in our organization and we use our homegrown software to deliver Product as a Service (PaaS). Luckily, things did fall in place gradually and now we are in good shape. Although initially there are few challenges, "If you love what you do and ready to go the extra mile, then success is definitely round the corner".

Throw some light on the range of services offered by Melbarr ITES. Can you tell us about the unique features you offer that give you an edge over your competitors in this industry?
I understand we have a huge commitment towards our clients and the market for B2B is end-less. The reason we have an edge in our Line of Business is due to our unique one-stop solution. We have adopted Product As A Service (PAAS), wherein we build our homegrown products and use them for our purposes to serve our clients and this has always been our objective so far. We are not only focused on lead generation or demand generation but we have dozens of homegrown products. Our core offerings are tele-marketing, content syndication, email marketing, data building, data enrichment, etc.

Tell us about the expertise and experience of your team at Melbarr ITES and also, throw some light on your work culture.
We have not had any salary cuts from the inception to date. We issued the confirmations and incentives we had promised to all deserving employees. Any kind of new salary hikes and yearly appraisals are also done as per the commitment, I believe anybody working in a startup needs to work two or three times harder than they were doing under normal circumstances. They have to keep up-skilling themselves because it's unlikely many startups will want to hire new people, so the existing people will have to take more responsibility. It is said by some-one - Employees support leaders who are transparent, accessible, honest, authentic, and who invest in them.

When an organization’s leaders are front and center and make them available to every-one, it creates a sense that “we’re all in this together,” and employees are much more likely to feel good about the goals they’re working towards and the company’s mission. We have got two types of resources, the super-smart or you can say domain experts and then there’s raw talent“ bunch of fresh Engineering Graduates” They have the knowledge and the other hand we have real-time experiences such combined talent & experience pool makes worthy than so-called "simply qualified – mediocre, experienced but not educated engineers" out there. This combination of our employees has certainly enriched our workforce, forming one of the major factors for our success. We hired a bunch of ZERO experience resources. We thought they would be a great fit with our culture and decided to give them a chance to work with us. We have promoted few folks twice within a Year. Sometimes people just need a chance & Melbarr is one such company that will continue this approach.
