Foreseeing the Future

The Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli started its new year by commemorating its 13th Foundation Day, celebrating the anniversary of its establishment as the nation's 11th IIM. The event was graced by Anand Kripalu, Managing Director and Global CEO of Essel Propack Limited, as the Chief Guest. Ms. Charu Sheel Kunwar, Executive Director and Chief Human Resources Officer at Lighthouse Canton, served as the Guest of Honour. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli. In his address to the students, the Director reflected on the institute's origins and development, high lighting the persistent endeavors that

have positioned the institute among the premier management institutions in the nation.

The institute is walking the talk by thinking ahead and foreseeing its infrastructure needs. The Director recently announced the institute's ongoing infra-structure enhancements, foreseeing the needs in the near future. This includes the construction of additional classrooms, hostels, and sports facilities. "After relocating to our present campus from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli in 2017, we recognized by 2021 that our infrastructure was under pressure from our expanding requirements. Consequently, we have constructed two new classrooms with a capacity of 80 seats each, and we are building six more. These facilities are anticipated to fulfill our needs until at least 2030," stated Mr. Singh during a press briefing held before the institute's convocation last month.
