IIT Bombay: World-class Engineering Education & Research
Nestled in a green, sprawling campus on the banks of Powai Lake, IIT Bombay is a pioneering educational institution in the field of engineering education and research. Founded in 1958, IIT B is one of the most sought after IITs in the country today. It was in 1961 when the Indian Parliament recognized the IITs as ‘Institutes of National Importance'. Since then, the institute has helped nurture some of the most prolific technical minds of the country.
The institutes’ alumni have distinguished themselves through their achievements and contributions to industry, academics, research, business, government and social domains. The institute continues to work closely with the alumni to enhance its activities through interactions in academic and research programmes as well as to mobilize financial support.
The current edition of CEOInsights India magazine celebrates alumni leaders from the celebrated institution.
One of the featured leaders is Anubhav Jain, the CEO & Managing Director of Hunter Douglas South Asia. An IIT Bombay and IIM Calcutta alumnus, he has over a decade of leadership experience across analytics, consulting, and manufacturing, including a 13 year career at BCG, where he rose to Managing Director & Partner rank.
Another prolific leader is Shailendra Singh who strategically steers organizations toward impact through disciplined execution and relentless pursuit of meaningful outcomes. Shailendra's management philosophy is short: give people ownership and get out of their way. “I’ve watched culture fall apart when people are micromanaged. The best work happens when someone owns their decisions—when they’re not waiting for permission or approval at every step.”
