Visionaries Comprehending the Necessity of a Green Future

Today, the integration of advanced eco-conscious methods and resource-efficient practices has become central to brand identity, especially for leading enterprises striving to build trust and future-ready reputations within increasingly discerning markets. In the context of India, home to 140 crore people, the urgency to embrace green building standards and robust sustainability frameworks is more apparent than ever, with business thought leaders acknowledging that these measures are now indispensable rather than optional.

However, while interest in sustainable business practices and green innovation continues to accelerate globally, the affordability of these
initiatives remains a decisive challenge for wide spread adoption. Green solutions that are highly expensive risk excluding socio-economic groups who stand to benefit most, ultimately limiting the reach and impact of sustainability efforts.

The landscape is further complicated by policy shifts such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which is driving significant change for importers from carbon-intensive industries across Asia. CBAM specifically targets products such as cement, aluminium, iron, steel, fertilisers, electricity, and hydrogen—and it stands to redefine Asia’s export profile, challenging businesses to innovate and decarbonise their operations to remain competitive. Indian leaders are responding proactively by strengthening intra-regional trade ties, seeking collaborative approaches to mitigate external risks, and navigating the evolving regulatory environment with agility and foresight. This heightened scrutiny compels businesses to quickly adapt their practices and strategies to remain resilient and relevant.

In this special edition of CEO Insights, we celebrate the visionary leaders who are steering their organisations towards a sustainable future. Do let us know about your thoughts
