Female leaders are paving the way towards a brighter, more equal future by breaking down barriers and blazing new trails. Women entrepreneurs embody resilience and determination by successfully turning their passions into thriving businesses. Indrani Mukherjiee, the ingenious founder and CEO of BAMBOOOZ, has demonstrated that achieving this audacious goal is not beyond the realm of possibility. BAMBOOOZ is an initiative promoting a zero pollution-free environment by using bamboo products for a healthier lifestyle. Her journey as a female entrepreneur is a testament to the fact that with determination, perseverance, and a clear sense of purpose, we can turn our passions into thriving businesses.

In an interview with CEO Insights, Indrani Mukherjiee briefs about the origin of this innovative concept, the obstacles she faced, and the remarkable success of BAMBOOOZ.

What is the overall premise of BAMBOOOZ, and what distinguishes this brand from others?
The global trend towards environmental degradation seems to be increasing, with many new businesses disregarding the importance of sustainability. However, there are a few entrepreneurs who are trying to make a positive impact through innovative products that promote a healthy lifestyle. BAMBOOOZ is one such brand that focuses on providing sustainable, durable, and 100 percent biodegradable products to promote a healthy lifestyle and healthy living for consumers. They offer alternative products that showcase their ingenuity, with bamboo products being a particular strength of theirs.

A brand of DPIIT registered Manufacturing Startup ‘Furn Bambu’, the driving source of BAMBOOOZ is to bring about a clean & healthy environment by providing eye appealing infra
structure that is 100 percent biodegradable.

What was the main agenda in your mind while shaping the brand BAMBOOOZ?
My main foresight in establishing the brand was to provide ‘Made in India’ products. The products carry an emotional element other than 100 percent quality. We select artisans from the mediocre to lower class, and people from the most remote parts of India work with us.

In today’s dynamic business world, emerging leaders must find eco-friendly solutions to problems & possess the resilience to succeed in today's business world

I always looked upon products that provided zero wastage. BAMBOOOZ is the most renewable material present and with this zero carbon emission raw material, the poll in a pollution free environment is brilliantly satisfied. With our 5+ years of running the operations, there has not once the usage of landfill or disposal come into the requirement. Also, having the merchandise undergo and pass the strict USFDA tests, aligns now better with our company’s mission.

What is the process of your workmanship? Please elaborate.
At BAMBOOOZ, we use bamboo to craft all our products, which is an incredibly renewable material. Bamboo grows in clusters and replenishes itself every year, making it a highly sustainable choice. What's more, it can grow up to 60 feet in just a month and stores an equivalent amount of carbon dioxide as its mass. Engineered bamboo is a new-generation product with many uses such as façade ceiling cladding, flooring, roofing, and decking. Its versatility makes it an excellent contributor to the world's carbon reduction targets. Our mission at BAMBOOOZ is to offer top-quality products that help create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment for everyone.

Do you believe in the concept of ‘many hands make light work’?
I strongly believe that the success of our endeavor is the result of a collective effort by my team, and I attribute the credit to them. As a
leader, I value honesty and open communication, which have fostered a supportive and collaborative work environment. It's important to note that our endeavor is unique and requires effective communication to engage potential stakeholders. As a team, we establish clear goals for each taskand I encourage active participation from all members in the implementation and evaluation process. I value the feedback of each team member, and I carefully consider all aspects before concluding. I hold each member of my team in high regard and recognize their contributions to our shared success.

Do you see your position as the CEO and founder, as an uphill struggle?
It sure can get complicated sometimes. Sharing an excerpt of my recent encounter, we were given a renowned time bound contract. The products had to be made available on schedule. Everything has been going smoothly at first, but after a month, one of my most dependable coworkers, who was in charge of a critical aspect of the project, slipped into incognito mode. The time frame had already been established by the customer. I was actually in quite a pickle. I discussed the matter with my other founding member, and despite having little time, we eventually came up with an approach and delivered it on time. The customer was pleased with the work. I am a firm believer that in every organization, the end implementation is every thing.

What is your advice to the young entrepreneurs who look up to you?
In today's world, you have a bottleneck competition in every field. To rock your business in the present world, coming up with the most honest and effective approach will work. Focus on ingenuity without compromising on quality. That is the only way to survive in today’s technologically driven world.
