Anuj Pratap Singh

Managing Director & CEO

In today’s business world, where timelines are tight and stakes are high, the ability to lead cross functional teams, navigate challenges, and maintain operational excellence is key to success. Anuj Pratap Singh stands as a dynamic leader in the infrastructure sector in the role of Managing Director and CEO of Apcon Infraworks Pvt. Ltd.

Born in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, Anuj completed his schooling in his hometown before graduating with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from NIT Bhopal in 2005. His career began in the construction industry, where he worked on prestigious projects like the Delhi Metro, cement plants, and facilities for global companies like P&G.

These eight years of professional experience offered him deep insights into site execution, team management, and client coordination.

In 2013, Anuj took the entrepreneurial leap and founded Apcon Infraworks. Over the past 12 years, he has led the company in delivering high-value industrial construction projects for clients such as Tata Power, Thermax, IOCL, GAIL, Birla, Cadbury, and Reliance.

His team now includes 50 full-time engineering professionals and around 400 construction workers. Anuj's leadership is grounded in values such as integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to quality.

His journey reflects a belief that people matter more than processes, that teams can solve complex problems and that consistent effort and learning from failures are essential for long-term success in the infrastructure industry. Let’s hear more from him in this one-on-one interaction.

How do your past experiences influence your ability to provide strategic direction and ensure strong governance as a leader?

My experience on the ground and in project management allows me to make informed, strategic decisions that are rooted in practical realities and aligned with long-term objectives. Starting my career in execution roles has given me a
deep appreciation of the challenges faced on-site, as well as an understanding of what clients expect. This background helps me connect operational realities with broader business strategies.

In my leadership role, I emphasize the importance of clear systems, consistent quality, and a culture of responsibility within teams. I also advocate for transparent governance, ensuring compliance, ethical standards, and risk management are integral to every stage of our projects. While I stay closely involved in day-to-day operations, my focus remains on driving long-term value and sustainable growth.

How do you cultivate a culture of innovation to keep your company leading in infrastructure development?

To build a culture of innovation, I prioritize empowering teams to challenge existing practices and introduce new ideas, whether related to construction techniques, materials, or project management processes. We promote innovation by encouraging contributions from all levels within the organization, not just from leadership. Often, valuable insights come from site engineers, super visors, and even vendors.

We also reward creativity and problem-solving efforts, recog- nizing that not every idea will succeed immediately. This approach fosters a safe environment where experi- mentation is welcomed and learning from failures is embraced.

Maintaining strong external connections is key. We regularly participate in industry exhibitions, collaborate with technology providers, and benchmark against top -performing companies to stay informed of the latest trends.

By integrating innovation into our every day mindset instead of treating it as a separate program, we remain agile and maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving infrastructure sector.

How do you promote collaboration to harness diverse expertise and develop com - prehensive solutions?

I encourage collaboration by fostering an open environment where all stakeholders, including engineers, architects, vendors, and site teams, are invited to share their ideas from the
very beginning. Regular cross-functional meetings clear and transparent communi -cation, and a culture of mutual respect enable us to blend diverse skills and perspectives into practical, well-rounded solutions that succeed both in planning and onsite.

Additionally, we work closely with industry experts and consultants to incorporate specialized knowledge. Their insights enrich our approach, helping us design and execute efficient, future-proof solutions at every phase of the project.

What new opportunities do you foresee in the market, and how are you preparing to tap into them? What is your future vision and personal success mantra?

Looking ahead, I foresee substantial growth across sectors such as manufacturing, warehousing, tourism, urban renewal, green energy infrastructure, and smart construction technologies. The momentum generated by initiatives like 'Make in India,' the development of logistics hubs, and digital transformation is driving increased demand for fast-paced, high-quality industrial construction. Additionally, government support for infrastructure and public-private partnerships is creating new opportunities in transportation, housing, and renewable energy.

To stay ahead, we are actively adopting modular construction techniques, strengthening our safety and compliance systems, and collaborating with clients early in the planning stage to deliver efficient, future ready solutions. Our roadmap involves scaling into large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects while deepening our technical capabilities and integrating more technology-driven workflows.

Our long-term vision is to build a company recognized nationwide for its commitment to quality, reliability, and timely execution. My personal success mantra is simple: stay grounded, keep your promises, and never compromise on quality. I believe consistent effort, transparent communi- cation, and a hands-on leadership approach have been the cornerstones of our sustained growth and client trust.
