Tell us about the experiences and lessons that helped you emerge as a leader and what drives you today?
Over more than two decades in the agri -cultural sector, I have had the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change, especially in the lives of farmers and rural communities. One of the milestones I value most is enabling farmers to enhance their income, improve their quality of life, and build healthier soil systems that sustain future generations.
These experiences have shaped my leadership philosophy and strengthened my belief that purposeful, ethical work creates value far beyond business outcomes. What continues to drive me is the ability to make a real difference, supporting people, solving meaningful problems, and contributing to a more sustainable and equitable ecosystem where progress and compassion go hand in hand.
As an alumnus from IIM Calcutta, what have been the most transformative learning experiences during your time there?
My time at IIM Calcutta was truly transformative, especially coming from a small town with a very different worldview. The experience broadened my thinking and exposed me to new perspectives, ideas, and ambitions.
Beyond academics, the most impactful lessons were around leadership, under standing how to bring people together, make decisions with clarity, and lead with empathy and purpose. The institute helped refine my natural strengths and encouraged me to think beyond personal goals, focusing instead on how leadership can create meaningful outcomes for others.
Those years strengthened my confidence, shaped my values, and laid the foundation for the way I approach challenges and opportunities in both life and business today.
How has the institute helped you further your passion in entrepreneurship and sharpen your business acumen?
The institute played a significant role in shaping my entrepreneurial mindset and strengthening my ability to navigate complex challenges. It’s learning environment encouraged critical thinking, agility, and decision-making under uncertainty, skills that proved invaluable during real-world situations like the COVID-19 pandemic.
In agriculture, engaging directly with farmers is essential yet during the crisis, traditional interactions weren’t possible. We had to rethink our approach, innovate rapidly, and adopt new ways of connecting and delivering value.
Those lessons in adaptability and resilience enabled our organization to not only sustain operations but also achieve record performance and create meaningful impact. The foundation laid at IIM Calcutta continues to guide my leadership approach and entrepreneurial journey.
What kinds of opportunities did the institute enable you to gain global exposure and develop diverse perspectives that helped you build meaningful partnerships and net works?
IIM Calcutta offered several avenues to interact with diverse peers, industry leaders, and global viewpoints, which helped broaden my under standing beyond conventional boundaries. While the institute opened doors, I firmly believe that networking is ultimately a personal skill, built through curiosity openness, and meaningful engagement.
Strong networks are not just about professional advantage; they are about collaboration, shared learning, and collective progress. No individual can accomplish every thing alone, and connecting the right people and ideas often leads to greater impact. The relationships I’ve built over time have allowed me to gain varied perspectives, explore new solutions, and contribute to a larger ecosystem

What is the next chapter you look forward to embarking on in your professional journey?
The next chapter of my professional journey is centered on creating an exceptional workplace, one where people are not just employees, but passionate contributors who feel inspired and motivated every day.
I want to build an environment that fosters creativity, collabo -ration, and a shared commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
My focus will be on attracting and nurturing like-minded talent who are aligned with this vision and are eager to drive innovation and meaningful change in the agricultural sector.
By cultivating a culture of purpose, empowerment, and excellence, I hope to amplify our collective impact and redefine what it means to lead with both vision and compassion.
In light of your strong professional experience, what would be your advice to budding industry leaders?
For aspiring leaders, the most crucial skill is decisiveness. While analysis and planning are important, overthinking can lead to paralysis, preventing progress. Ideas and strategies hold value only when they are executed effectively.
Emerging leaders should focus on translating concepts into action, taking concrete steps to implement plans rather than remaining in the planning stage.Real leadership is demonstrated through the ability to act, adapt, and learn from experiences along the way.
It is equally important to balance vision with practicality ensuring that innovative ideas are grounded in reality and delivered on the ground. Execution, persistence, and hands-on involvement are what truly differentiate successful leaders.
