Access to equitable, technology-based healthcare is not a luxury but a necessity in a world where clinical research and patient care must adapt quickly to changing demands. Over the last decade, the concept of healthcare innovation has evolved from paper-intensive, fragmented processes to intelligent, data-based ecosystems that connect patients, doctors, and life sciences stakeholders on a global scale.

At the forefront of this revolution is Dr Aditya Tallapragada, the president of AKT Health Inc., a strategy consulting firm into a global healthcare intelligence partner that enables life sciences and health systems to attain sustained growth and excellence. Operating at the intersection of data, technology and clinical insight, AKT Health is a performance-driven and workflow innovation technology that enables long-term sustain ability of the healthcare ecosystem.

Dr Aditya has a professional experience of close to 15 years working in Japan, India and other global markets, his career started as a clinical researcher in Japan, and he shifted to data analytics and market research making him concentrates on the potential to connect science and strategy. He established AKT in 2017 that has grown to a 100-member firm that provides innovation globally.

What is your approach toward ensuring high
product standards?

Quality is always at the top of our minds. We follow Japanese methodologies like Kaizen and continuous learning, ensuring every product and process meets their high standards.

Our Indian development teams focus on internalizing this precision, timing, and discipline, so delivering high-quality products is inherent to our work. It’s not an additional enforcement but a core mindset, cultivated through experience in the Japanese environment, where quality and process excellence is non-negotiable.

Leveraging regional strengths to innovate & grow more effectively

How does your organization leverage the latest technology trends in the industry?

Technology adoption in highly regulated industries like healthcare and life sciences is slower due to strict regulations on data privacy, storage, and intellectual property. Innovations like AI, blockchain, and cloud computing face challenges in implementation, particularly when handling sensitive or personalized data.

While adoption may take longer compared to industries like finance, where data is largely public, the impact in healthcare is far more enduring. Once integrated, these technologies transform processes permanently, offering long-term benefits, unlike trends in less regulated sectors, which can be short-lived.

Tell us about your leadership style.

My leadership style is entrepreneurship-driven and focused on nurturing talent from within. I appoint capable leaders, including women CEOs, and give them freedom to manage day-to-day operations while I guide strategy, branding, and financial decisions.

We maintain a flat organization, encourage innovation, and support team members in expanding their domains. Continuous learning, developing new products, and fostering future leaders are core to our culture.

How do you stay updated on current industry trends?
I stay ahead of industry trends by actively attending global conferences, engaging with visionaries, and participating in discussions on emerging technologies.

Early adoption has been a focus, for example, building block chain-based electronic health records in 2016 and exploring language models for healthcare.

Being an investor, I analyze future trends to guide strategic investments, acquisitions, and innovation within our company. Traveling internationally and interacting with diverse stakeholders helps me identify key focus areas, anticipate market shifts, and continuously learn from experts across healthcare, biotech, and longevity sectors.

What is the future roadmap you have envisioned for yourself for the next five years?

Our company has been self-funded and boot strapped for the past several years, achieving steady growth. Our short-term focus is on perfecting our products and expanding launches in Europe and Japan.

In the next three to five years, we aim to expand into the Indian market, establish regional headquarters, invite external funding, and pursue stock listings in India, potentially via a SPAC IPO on NASDAQ. We are also exploring additional delivery centers, like Abu Dhabi, to support global operations.

What advice would you give to aspiring leaders in the industry?

Although I consider myself an emerging leader, my experience in multicultural environments and starting a company in Japan has taught me the value of continuous learning.

I believe in seeking opportunities rather than seeing limitations, especially in healthcare. Collaboration, rather than competition, is key, leveraging regional strengths to innovate and grow more effectively.
