Chief Executive

From the sun-soaked shores of Goa to the prestigious University of Melbourne in Australia, Kavya Allaparthi’s journey is a narrative of change, exploration and newness. Stepping out of the comfort of her hometown, she pursued master's in Management from University of Melbourne, a voyage that transcended traditional education boundaries. It was more than acquiring a degree it was a transformative experience that shaped Kavya into a leader with a global perspective.

Her education was not confined to the lecture halls; it was a fusion of academia, cultural exposure, and hands-on learning. The program, designed for industry professionals gave her an opportunity to network with greatly experienced people and understand different ideas and business practices. Surrounded by individuals with varied backgrounds, she absorbed various perspectives on construction, business, and life itself. The University of Melbourne, with its emphasis on global challenges, sustainability, and innovation, played a pivotal role in shaping Kavya's environmental consciousness. This ethos now seeps through every brick laid and every project undertaken by Milroc.

Returning to Goa, Kavya brought with her knowledge and a renewed vision for Milroc Good Earth Developers, her family's construction legacy. The impact reflected in her company with fresh ideas and practices. This blend of wisdom and global insights became the hallmark of her leadership success. CEO Insights engages in an exclusive conversation with her.

Could you give a brief about your professional journey?
I've always been part of the
construction industry as my father has been in this business and founded Milroc Good Earth Developers 35 years ago. After earning my master's in Management from the University of Melbourne, I aimed to integrate my insights into our family business which was a big learning curve. Collaborating with my father, who has 30+ years in the industry, has been fulfilling. It's not just about construction; it's about absorbing global knowledge and growing. That's my journey – from being around construction since childhood to bringing in new perspectives and experiences.

The canvas she paints is not just one of construction & development but of a future where Goa thrives sustainably

Tell me about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow?
My leadership approach is simple and straightforward. Building a team is pivotal as they represent and drive the company forward. I focus on aligning team members with the company's vision and values, emphasizing authenticity and delivering to our fullest potential. It's more than just financial considerations; it's about shared beliefs and the responsibility of handling someone's life savings. The team needs to resonate with our vision and genuinely believe in what we offer, ensuring they would personally invest in our products. Before bringing someone on board, we ask essential questions: Do they align with our values? Would they buy what they're selling? This approach stems from the belief that individuals make the company, and they are more like partners in our shared journey. The success of the company translates into collective success, emphasizing a shared bottomline for everyone involved.

What is the future you are headed towards?
In the next five years, my focus is on sustaining the passion and commitment to ongoing learning and growth. Milroc has an exciting lineup of projects, including a hospitality venture. I envision contributing to local employment for a cleaner, better future for my state, taking steps to put it on the map. Gratitude remains for those who've supported my journey, and the roadmap involves continuous improvement, one step at a time.

What’s your advice for the budding entrepreneurs and leaders?
My message is to stay authentic, follow your passion, and believe in what you do. When you genuinely love what you do, everything falls into place naturally. So, my advice is to stay true to who you are and what you're passionate about.
