Country Head - India & Southeast Asia

As organizations expand across inter -national markets, the role of a Country Head has become increasingly strategic. Beyond managing day-today operations, Country Heads are responsible for driving regional growth, strengthening customer relationships, building high-performing teams, and aligning global business objectives with local market dynamics.

In technology-led industries, where product innovation and customer experience are closely intertwined, effective Country Heads combine commercial acumen with domain expertise to create sustainable business value.

Parminder Singh, Country Head for India and Southeast Asia at Tracey Technologies, brings this combination of technical depth and business leadership to the forefront. A graduate of the University of Delhi with a Diploma in Electronics, he began his career in 1996 in the medical technology sector, designing physiotherapy equipment and their circuit designing.

His journey progressed through Medex India Pvt. Ltd., where he managed nationwide service operations for operation theatre equipment’s and received advanced technical training in the United Kingdom from Eschmann Brothers & Walsh Limited. He has changed the whole design of their automatic electrohydraulic OT tables by giving suggestions for changing its circuits and physical designing for which he gets appreciation and recognition from principal company. He worked with many reputed surgeons at various hospitals across India and addressed their issues with their electrosurgical systems by attending surgeries with them in Operation Theatres.

In 2001, Parminder Singh entered the ophthalmology industry with Allergan Surgical, where his technical expertise and customer-centric approach earned him a promotion from Senior Service Engineer to Regional Application Manager.

He subsequently expanded his experience with German ophthalmic technology company Geuder for two years before joining Bausch + Lomb India in 2008 as National Service & Application Manager, leading operations across India as well as neighboring markets.

A defining milestone came in 2012 when he joined Tracey Technologies after recognizing the transformative potential of its proprietary iTrace system with wavefront ray-tracing technology. Today, as Country Head, Parminder Singh leads the company's operations across India and Southeast Asia, drives business expansion through an
extensive distributor network, and has played a key role in introducing Tracey Technologies' advanced ophthalmic diagnostic solutions not only to the private segment but also to the Indian Armed Forces, further strengthening the company's presence in one of the country's most critical healthcare segments.

I believe sustained business growth comes from combining technical expertise, responsive service, and longterm customer trust

Looking back on your career, which achievements or turning points have been the most influential in defining your leadership approach and preparing you to lead business operations at the country level?

During my tenure at Bausch + Lomb, I standardized service operations to inter -national benchmarks by developing a structured support system that improved efficiency and helped the team consistently achieve its targets with optimum customer satisfaction.

Another major milestone came at Tracey Technologies, where I established Asia's first dedicated service and calibration laboratory where the whole system can be rebuilt by performing all major repairs after receiving advanced training from Tracey Technologies in the US.

This eliminated the need to send systems overseas, significantly reducing customer downtime. These experiences, combined with my commitment to transparent communication, technical excellence, and continuous customer training have shaped my leadership philosophy.

As Country Head, what are your key priorities in building a high-performing organization, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring sustainable busi- ness growth?

My foremost priority is delivering exceptional customer support because our systems are critical to everyday clinical practice. We resolve issues quickly through remote assistance, on-site service, or our dedicated service facility, while also providing standby systems to minimize disruption.

Equally important is continuous education. I personally conduct training sessions for surgeons and optometrists and regularly update my own knowledge through scientific literature and research.

I believe sustained business growth comes from combining technical expertise, responsive service, and long-term customer trust.

Managing business oper- ations in a fast changing technology industry often presents unexpected challenges. Could you please share a particularly demanding situation you encountered as a leader and how you successfully navi- gated it?
One of the biggest challenges has been supporting surgeons during complex clinical cases where they seek my technical guidance before surgery. Although I am not a doctor, years of working with advanced diagnostic technology have given me the confidence to interpret system data and assist them in decision-making.

This responsibility demands continuous learning and precision. By trusting the accuracy of our technology and maintaining close collaboration with clinicians, I have been able to contribute meaningfully to better patient outcomes and achieving quality of vision.

What emerging opportunities do you believe will redefine the technology services industry over the next five years, and how is Tracey Technologies positioning itself to capitalize on them?

Artificial Intelligence will transform ophthalmology over the next five years. At Tracey Technologies, we are working towards integrating AI into our diagnostic software so it can analyze large volumes of patient data and provide intelligent clinical recommendations.

This will enable surgeons to make faster and more informed decisions while improving treatment accuracy. By combining AI with our proprietary wave front Ray Tracing technology, we aim to continue setting new benchmarks in ophthalmic diagnostics and patient care.

What is your long-term vision for Tracey Technologies in your region, and what lasting impact do you hope to create for your customers, employees, and the broader technology ecosystem?

A recent milestone has been the successful deployment of our diagnostic systems across Indian Armed Forces hospitals. Looking ahead, my vision is to expand access to our technology across government hospitals throughout India. Advanced ophthalmic diagnostics should not be limited to premium healthcare insti -tutions.

I want patients from every economic background to benefit from best diagnosis, better surgical planning, and improved quality of vision. Creating broader access to world-class eye care is the lasting impact I hope to achieve through Tracey Technologies.
