Raveena Chauhan
Founder
In the design and architecture sector particularly, this shift is creating a new generation of leaders who are redefining spaces with a deeper focus on sustain ability, personalization and human-centric experiences. Among these emerging names is Raveena Chauhan, Founder of SLA9, who has steadily established herself through a design philosophy rooted in creativity, functionality, and sustainable thinking.
Beginning her professional journey with residential projects, Raveena gradually built her practice by focusing on spaces that blend aesthetics with usability. One of the defining milestones in her career came when she received the opportunity to design a one-acre farmhouse, a project she considers a major turning point in her architectural journey.
For many architects, larger-scale projects symbolize growth and industry recognition, and this achievement marked an important phase in the evolution of her practice.
Driven by the constant desire to innovate, Raveena approaches every project with the aim of creating meaningful spaces that positively influence the lifestyles of clients. Her commitment to bringing fresh ideas, thoughtful execution, and practical design solutions continues to shape SLA9’s growing presence in the architecture and interior design industry.
CEO Insights engaged in a one on one interaction with Raveena Chauhan, let’s hear from her.
What inspired you to establish SLA9, and how would you describe its brand philosophy?
SLA9 stands for Sustainable Landscape Architecture, and my background in both architecture and landscape architecture inspired me to create a firm that offers a complete design ecosystem under one roof.
I wanted clients to experience seamless coordination between architecture, interiors, and landscape design rather than dealing with separate teams. At SLA9, we focus on creating holistic and thoughtfully integrated spaces where every aspect of the built environment complements the other while reflecting sustainability, functionality, and design excellence.
How would you describe your leadership style while managing your team?
I strongly believe in encouraging fresh perspectives and creative thinking within my team because design should never become repetitive. I prefer working with young and innovative minds who bring new ideas and energy to every project.
At the same time, I personally supervise areas related to functionality, detailing, and execution precision. We have dedicated teams for design, execution, and 3D visualization, which helps maintain efficiency, coordination, and quality while ensuring every project is executed with clarity and professionalism.
How do you stay updated with evolving industry trends and global design move -ments?
The architecture and interior design industry is evolving very rapidly, especially with global trends becoming easily accessible in India. I make it a priority to stay informed about new materials, technologies, and design innovations emerging internationally.
As professionals, we need to constantly adapt and evolve so we can offer fresh ideas and unique experiences to clients.
For me, every day is an opportunity to learn something new, explore different possibilities, and translate those learnings into meaningful and contem -porary design solutions.
In your view, what differentiates a truly impactful functional leader in the architecture and interior design industry from a conventional business leader?
I believe a truly impactful leader in this industry is someone who balances creativity with functionality while staying updated with the latest materials, technologies, and design trends.
Beyond aesthetics, it is important to deeply understand the client’s requirements and design spaces that genuinely improve their lifestyle.
My vision is to build a multidisciplinary design practice that continues to prioritize sustain ability, functionality, and per - sonalized experiences

Unlike a conventional business leader who may focus mainly on operations or profits, a functional design leader ensures that innovation, practicality, usability, and client expectations are aligned in every project.
How do you ensure each SLA9 project reflects individuality while main - taining practical usability?
Today’s clients are very clear about their aspirations and the kind of spaces they want for themselves. At SLA9, I spend considerable time understanding the client’s lifestyle, expectations, and personal preferences before starting any project.
In residential projects, especially, inter -acting with every family member is equally important because every individual uses the space differently. This process helps us create highly personalized yet practical spaces.
Our USP lies in transforming unique design concepts into solutions that are functional, affordable, and capable of enhancing everyday living experiences.
What is the future roadmap you have envisioned for SLA9 over the next five years, and what advice would you like to share with upcoming leaders in the architecture and design industry?
Over the next five years, I want SLA9 to expand beyond residential projects such as villas, farmhouses, and luxury apartments into commercial spaces including offices, hotels, and hospitality projects.
My vision is to build a multidisciplinary design practice that continues to prioritize sustainability, functionality, and personalized experiences.
At the same time, I believe upcoming leaders should move beyond blindly following trends shaped by AI, Pinterest, or social media.
Good architecture should reflect the client’s personality, emotions, and lifestyle. Spaces should feel warm, functional, and meaningful rather than simply appearing modern or visually appealing.
