AP CM to Launch Indigenous Quantum Computers Testing Facility

On April 14th, in observance of World Quantum Day, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh will inaugurate the nation's inaugural indigenous Quantum Computers testing facility at SRM University in Amaravati.
In addition, he will remotely unveil the Quantum facility center located at Medha Towers in Gannavaram near Vijayawada.
Andhra Pradesh is poised to become the first state in the country to establish an indigenous Quantum computers testing facility, thereby positioning Amaravati Quantum Valley as a leading hub for international Quantum Computers.

The Chief Minister will be present for the live activation of a quantum system, observing the cooling process of the processor in the Amaravati 1Q system which will be initiated virtually from its location at Medha Towers.
Simultaneously, the Amaravati 1S system will operate as a transparent open access configuration accessible to all participants during the presentation. The establishment of the Amaravati Quantum Reference facility will grant India control over its quantum infrastructure.
Serving as the central node of a nationwide quantum hardware network, Amaravati will enable India to develop, evaluate, authenticate, and produce quantum systems for global dissemination. The advancements made through the Academic Qualification Recognition Framework (AQRF) encompass cutting-edge technologies such as cryogenics, precision electronics, and quantum-grade fabrication. These innovations hold significant implications for various industries including defense, healthcare, and semiconductor manufacturing.

The primary initiative of the Andhra Pradesh Government, known as the Quantum Technology Hub, is part of India's National Quantum Mission. This hub, located in Amaravati Quantum Valley, will house an IBM 133-qubit Quantum computer and has formed over 80 partnerships with industry and academia, establishing itself as one of the top five quantum hubs in the world.
The introduction of the Amaravati Quantum Research Facility (AQRF) on World Quantum Day enhances the Amaravati Quantum Valley's offerings by incorporating a hardware component to its current quantum cloud, training, and innovation resources.
The government's initiative includes the installation of advanced quantum computers in Amaravati, as well as the plan to locally produce complete quantum computer systems and their parts for export in the near future.
On September 9th of the previous year, the Chief Minister engaged in discussions with hardware component manufacturers. Among the topics discussed was the manufacturers' proposal for the creation of reference facilities dedicated to the testing, validation, benchmarking, and certification of quantum components. It was determined during the course of the meeting that these reference facilities would be established in Amaravati.

Due to the availability of these resources, numerous companies nationwide are expected to be interested in producing quantum devices locally in Amaravati. As a result, Amaravati is positioned to evolve into a leading hub for quantum hardware production.
While some companies in the nation are currently producing quantum components, essential components such as processors must still be sent overseas for testing. This procedure generally lasts between six to seven months.
Moreover, some countries, like the US, restrict foreign entities from accessing their testing facilities. As for the facilities in Amaravati, they are making significant advancements in the production of quantum hardware.
