Ashok Leyland Opts for Sustainable Transport - Electric Buses for its Staffs

Commercial vehicle major, Ashok Leyland opts for sustainable transportation for its employees. The organization chose to induct electric buses staffs transportation, which would be sourced from its UK subsidiary, Switch Mobility.

This comes close on the heels of the organization’s latest announcement of sourcing clean energy from Hinduja Renewables for its operations.

Dheeraj Hinduja, Chairman, Ashok Leyland states that amid climate change, emission-free mobility is the need of the hour. He continues, "With the recent initiative of sourcing clean energy for the Ashok Leyland operations, we now move to emission-free transport."

Ashok Leyland and Switch Mobility, together have the potential to transform the landscape of mobility globally. This move towards sustainable and socially responsible operations, the Hinduja group flagship noted.

Dheeraj further adds, "Building on Switch Mobility’s expertise and track record in electric bus design and manufacturing, the vehicles combine over a century of Indian and British Engineering experience with market-leading technologies and innovation to create the lowest total cost of ownership for our customers.”

With the recent initiative of sourcing clean energy for the Ashok Leyland operations, this move is now for emission-free transport, Dheeraj adds.
