Talking about the new appointment, Pascal Van Dooren, EVP, International at Avalara, comments, “We’re thrilled to welcome Manjula to the team. Manjula brings in over 25 years of experience in leading digital and transformational initiatives for global business. Recently, she has served as a strategic consultant at Socion Advisors, an advisory firm that works with social initiatives; committed to resolving all the large scale challenges. Prior to that, Manjula was associated with HSBC, where she served as the head of Digital Engineering for Commercial Banking. She has also spent nearly 20 years with Infosys and helped to restructure the pre-sale team for efficiency and develop the Learning Services offering for the organization.
Commenting on the appointment Manjula says, “In India, the process of collecting tax and complying with tax laws is changing quickly. I’m excited to join the company and look forward to helping businesses address tax complexity with smart technologies and excellent service.”
Prior to Manjula’s appointment, the company had hired Alessandra Almeida as MD of Brazil & Latin America operations, Steve Lomax as MD of EMEA operations. In addition, Avalara has recently acquired assets from Indix, an Artificial Intelligence- based product information platform, based in Chennai.
