With an objective to digitally engage and automate customer support its five crore customers, Andhra Bank join hands with Bengaluru-based AI startup, Floatbot to bring AI Chatbot named ‘ABhi’ which is integrated with Core Banking servers of the Bank. Along with this, Floatboat will also develop a chatbot for 20,000+ internal employees of Andhra Bank to automate on-boarding and training.

Gaurav Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT and S&T, Govt. of Karnataka, says, “This is a perfect testimony to the various initiatives that the Government of Karnataka is undertaking to encourage innovation in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. The NASSCOM Center of Excellence was set up by the Government of Karnataka to promote and nurture start ups with path breaking ideas involving new age technology. The idea is to provide a platform for these start ups to have access to technology, mentors, resources and like minded professionals”.

Incubated at the NASSCOM Center of Excellence DS-AI, Floatbot, the chatbot was launched after going through end to end security audit and a rigorous user acceptance teting (UAT) and all together 50,000 queries were tested before the final sign-off. Floatbot catalyze AI adoption for billion people in India through Conversational AI solutions in BFSI, smart cities, power distribution companies and enterprises.

This is a perfect testimony to the various initiatives that the Government of Karnataka is undertaking to encourage innovation in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence



Jimmy Padia, CEO, Floatbot, says, “We are happy to partner with Andhra Bank in its Digital transformation journey to automate customer support through Conversational AI, that can resolve customers queries and provide banking services in English, Hindi and Hinglish. In next phase, we intend to enable banking services for all regional languages on channels such as WhatsApp and Google Assistant. We have provided AI Chatbot solution ABHi to Andhra Bank on Floatbot's cloud, that is MietY approved. This is one of very few launches in India where a bank has allowed a cloud based Chatbot delivery. We are hopeful that this will set a trend for other Banks and Insurance companies in India to start accepting AI solutions on cloud”.

Founded in 2017, Floatbot is an omni0-channel chatbot development platform and aims to help businesses in reducing cost and increase customer engagement with chatbots. Its customers include CESC (Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation), Rajkot Muncipality, Pimpri Chinchwad Muncipality Corporation (PCMC), Shaadi.com, African Development Bank (AFDB) and Kauvery Hospital. Floatbot as of now supports English and Hindi and planning to add other regional languages such as Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali.
