Citigroup Appoints Prashant Thakker as Head of the Corporate bank for South- and Southeast Asia

According to reports, Citigroup has appointed Prashant Thakker head of the corporate bank for South and Southeast Asia.  

Reports indicate that the appointment as head of Asia South Corporate Bank is effective right away. 

Citi's Asia South markets include India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Thakker will manage the business strategy, financial results, talent growth, and implementation for Citi's Asia South Corporate Bank, covering local corporate, financial institution, public sector, and global network banking sectors, as outlined in the memo.

As stated in the memo, Thakker, who became a banker at Citi in India in 2007 and transferred to Hong Kong in 2013, presently leads Citi's Capital Management for Japan, North Asia, Australia, and South Asia and will be moving to Singapore.

According to the memo, he will be reporting to Jason Rekate and John Chirico, who are both Global Co-Heads of Corporate Banking, as well as Amol Gupte, Head of Asia South Cluster.
