Cognizant and Microsoft Partner to Expand GenAI in Enterprise

congniCognizant and Microsoft have announced an expanded partnership to integrate Microsoft's generative AI (GenAI) and Copilot technologies across various enterprises, aiming to transform business operations and enhance employee experiences. As part of the collaboration, Cognizant has acquired 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats, along with 500 Sales Copilot and 500 Services Copilot seats for its associates to boost productivity and streamline workflows.

Cognizant's CEO, Ravi Kumar S., highlighted the potential of generative AI to revolutionize businesses across industries, saying, "Generative AI can be a game-changer for virtually every business in every industry, opening up new possibilities for innovation, efficiency, and growth". The company plans to invest $1 billion in GenAI over the next three years and conduct research to explore its applications for clients and end customers.

Cognizant will work to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users across its global clientele, spanning 11 industries. This partnership aims to combine Cognizant's industry expertise with Microsoft's Copilot capabilities, including Copilot for Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot, to drive AI adoption and innovation across its network.

Judson Althoff, Microsoft's executive VP and chief commercial officer, expressed confidence in the partnership's potential to accelerate AI adoption and innovation in India. With AI expected to contribute significantly to India's GDP growth by 2025, this collaboration could play a crucial role in driving AI advancements in the country.
