
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Launches Development Projects in Shalimar Bagh

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta initiated several development projects in Shalimar Bagh, featuring a pilot scheme designed to convert overhead power lines into an underground system. The opening took place in the Janata Flats region, with CM Gupta alongside Delhi Minister Ashish Sood. CM Gupta mentioned that the government's aim is to remove overhead cables in the national capital.
"We frequently wondered why there is such a tangled web of overhead cables—why are they not installed underground?" In these narrow, busy streets, there's always the concern of sparks. "This is a gift for Delhi, for which we allocated Rs 100 crore in the budget," the minister says.
“The transition of overhead cables to underground is a trial project for Delhi. It is an idea and goal that our Delhi will be devoid of overhead wires. I am glad that through this initiative, the government is working to provide a new service to Delhi's inhabitants... "CM Gupta stated, 'A day will come when Delhi will have no visible wires.'"
"The streets in this area are so narrow that even two scooters can't pass alongside each other at the same time. People can now look for and view the blue sky," she commented.

Meanwhile, CM Gupta also expressed concern over the waterlogging seen across several parts of the city on Thursday following heavy rainfall.

She issued strict instructions to the officials of the concerned department to take effective steps to prevent waterlogging so that people of Delhi do not have to face problems during the monsoon season.
