Nitin Kediyal has been named Head of Commerce Practice by DEPT, and Rohit Shukla has been appointed Head of Data Practice

According to the agency, these strategic leadership recruitments demonstrate DEPT's dedication to bolstering Adobe-aligned capabilities in the area and meeting the changing demands of aspirational Indian companies.

According to DEPT, Shukla's "ability to unify complex ecosystems for real-time personalization and business impact will be pivotal in leading the agency's data practice in India." He also brings strategic data transformation leadership and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) expertise to the position.

In addition to having over 16 years of experience, Kediyal has extensive technical knowledge of headless commerce, Adobe Commerce, and composable architectures. Prior to this, he oversaw the deployment of end-to-end commerce in a variety of business models and geographical areas. Kediyal will lead the commerce practice at DEPT, promoting scalability, performance, and technical excellence for digital commerce initiatives.

As the first worldwide agency to accomplish this feat, DEPT recently recertified as a B Corp. For DEPT, this recertification demonstrates that prudent business practices and quick expansion can coexist.

DEPT has expanded from 1,200 employees in Europe to over 4,000 employees across five continents since obtaining their first B Corp certification in 2021. Although the company has broadened its scope—all DEPT locations now included in its recertification—it has also strengthened its resolve to strike a balance between profit and purpose.

More than ten percent of its revenue in 2024 came from impact projects like Easy Genomics and Undo the Firewall. It has also worked with companies like eBay, ReflexAI, Ocean Spray, Daniel's Music Foundation, and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, demonstrating that doing good and making money don't have to conflict.

Over the past three years, DEPT has extended its reach into the Americas, and APAC has created some of the most innovative digital projects and acquired over ten firms. However, it has also made certain that every action is consistent with its B Corp designation.

By lowering its carbon footprint and integrating DEI into all aspects of the company, DEPT has concentrated on making its influence scalable. Initiatives including sustainable procurement standards, living wage rules, and employee support programs have been implemented by the corporation in all of its operations.

Furthermore, DEPT's B Corp recertification guarantees that it is ready to meet new requirements and keep setting an example as corporate ESG commitments come under more scrutiny, agencies deal with increased activist activity, and regulations like the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) raise the bar for accountability.
