
Drone to Enhance Nation's Manufacturing Power to $23 billion by 2030

Driven by increasing demand from areas such as defense, agriculture, logistics, and infrastructure, the drone sector is projected to enhance the nation's manufacturing capability to $23 billion by 2030, according to a report.
With drones becoming integral to modern military strategies, India's Operation Sindoor following the Pahalgam terror attack signifies a significant change in the nation's use of drones, the Nexgen report states.
The report, which surveyed 150 firms across 15 cities, indicates that 40 percent of drone companies predict that agriculture and precision farming will generate the highest demand for drones in India by 2030, after the defense industry.
As drones gain prominence in contemporary military tactics, India’s Operation Sindoor, initiated after the Pahalgam terror incident, illustrates a significant evolution in the country’s drone integration, per the Nexgen report.
Based on a survey of 150 businesses in 15 urban areas, the report shows that 40 percent of drone firms anticipate agriculture and precision farming will lead the demand for drone technologies in India by 2030, following the defense sector.

Forecasts indicate that the global market for agricultural drones will grow to $5.89 billion by 2030.
To further encourage this growth, New Delhi will host the Drone International Expo 2025 from July 31 to August 1, 2025.
Organized by Nexgen Exhibitions, the Drone International Expo 2025 will present the latest technological advancements from more than six countries, including Russia, Taiwan, Canada, Ukraine, and India.
More than 50 domestic and international drone manufacturers will display their innovative products at the exhibition.
Drones are also aiding the agriculture industry by providing monitoring capabilities to prevent crop theft and protect against wildlife intrusion.
Approximately 20 percent of those surveyed believe that drones will lead to a significant uplift in rural India over the next five years by promoting smart agricultural practices in these areas.

About 15 percent of respondents feel that the logistics and infrastructure sectors are also playing a crucial role in this transformation.
