EdwardEdwards, a top provider of fire safety and detection solutions, has announced the launch of local manufacturing for its Signature Optica Smoke Detectors in India. This strategic initiative highlights the company's commitment to strengthening its presence in the Indian market while improving its global service capabilities. By producing in India, Edwards aims to integrate more closely with the local economy, enhancing efficiency and reducing delivery times through local production.

Kurt Bailey, Edwards’ Global Sales Director, expressed excitement about this new venture, calling it a key move for the company. "We are excited to begin this important expansion in India, a dynamic and rapidly growing market. This marks just the beginning of our stronger presence here, and you can expect more major developments from Edwards as we continue to expand", Bailey remarked. His comments reflect Edwards' ambition to establish a robust local footprint and recognize the Indian market's importance to the company’s broader global growth.

By manufacturing the Signature Optica Smoke Detectors in India, Edwards aims to tap into local expertise and resources, streamlining operations and cutting lead times. This step also supports the Indian government's 'Make in India' initiative, which encourages domestic production while maintaining top international quality standards. Edwards remains committed to delivering high-quality products that meet these standards, ensuring that their smoke detectors retain the same level of safety and reliability that customers expect globally.

Albert Gu, Regional Sales General Manager for the Rest of Asia, emphasized the company's focus on quality, saying, "Through this initiative, we are incorporating global quality standards into products made in India, providing customers with cutting-edge safety technology". The local production of these advanced smoke detectors is expected to enhance Edwards' ability to serve the Indian market more effectively.

The Signature Optica Smoke Detectors manufactured in India come equipped with advanced features to ensure maximum safety. Utilizing patented Optica technology, the detectors employ dual wavelengths, multiple angles, and sophisticated algorithms to distinguish between non-threatening particles like steam, dust, or cooking smoke and genuine fire risks. Additionally, they are backward-compatible with Edwards’ SuperDuct Detectors, allowing for seamless system upgrades and retrofits.

Muthu, General Manager of Edwards India, highlighted the long-term significance of this initiative. "Our strategic decision to create a 'Made in India' product portfolio has taken its first step. In the future, we anticipate producing more products locally for the Indian market, enabling faster access for customers. Expanding our manufacturing capabilities here will greatly support our operations in India, one of the largest and fastest-growing emerging markets globally", he stated.

Edwards' move to begin manufacturing in India demonstrates its dedication to global excellence and deeper engagement with local economies, setting new benchmarks for the industry and showcasing the potential of Indian manufacturing on the global stage.
