EU-India Trade Pact Unlocks Europe to Assam Tea at Zero Tariff

Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the EU-India free trade agreement will guarantee that Assam tea exports will arrive in European nations with no tariffs.
Speaking at a public rally at the Khanikar Parade Ground here, Shah stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought Assam tea to Paris and Berlin, among other nations in the European bloc, via the recently finalized trade agreement.
'He asserted that the EU-India trade agreement will enhance Assam tea exports to European nations.'
India and the European Union finalized a historic free trade deal, referred to as the "mother of all deals," aiming to establish a market of two billion individuals, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the EU's top leaders presenting a groundbreaking plan to utilize trade and defence in safeguarding the rules-based international order.
To attract the tea tribe community before the upcoming assembly elections, the union minister expressed gratitude to the tea garden workers for providing a "unique identity to Assam and India as prominent tea exporters globally."

Dibrugarh is recognized as the tea capital, and garden laborers have guaranteed that the scent of Assam tea reaches global consumers. The country is known globally for its tea. "The diligent efforts of workers have made this possible," he stated.

Shah stated that tea garden workers have bolstered the state's economy while also guaranteeing that the drink continues to be a top export product.

The BJP leader claimed that the Congress has done "nothing for the benefit of garden workers who have established Assam, especially Dibrugarh, as the tea capital of India".
"The law has been modified by the chief minister to guarantee that tea garden workers obtain land ownership rights," he stated.
