In a previous post, he greeted Greer upon her arrival in India and mentioned that finalizing the bilateral trade agreement will "open up new economic opportunities for both nations and greatly strengthen the US-India economic partnership."

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated last week that there has been notable advancement in the discussions regarding the interim bilateral trade agreement. “According to Misri after the G7 summit, we have already achieved considerable progress with the United States regarding an interim bilateral free trade agreement, and he noted that Greer’s trip to New Delhi would advance trade discussions.”
Previously, Goyal greeted Greer, Sergio Gor, and the US delegation at the Department of Commerce for "constructive talks regarding the bilateral trade agreement between India and the US."
India continues its dialogue with the US regarding suggested tariff actions related to Section 301 proceedings, while also striving to finalize a bilateral trade agreement. After his meetings in India, Greer will head to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to engage in discussions about equitable, balanced, and reciprocal trade with officials there, according to the United States Trade Representative (USTR).
