Delhivery revealed its commitment to enhancing green logistics through a collaboration with Bajaj Auto, planning to deploy around 1,500 electric cargo three-wheelers throughout its network in the next two years.

The collaboration started with the deployment of 200 Bajaj RIKI eCarts throughout Delhivery's last-mile delivery system after the initial group was officially launched at Bajaj Auto's Akurdi plant in Pune.

The next phase, planned for 2026-27, will involve the rollout of around 1,500 Bajaj electric three-wheelers in L3 and L5 categories.

As per a filing with the exchange by Delhivery, the Bajaj RIKI eCart is crafted specifically for last-mile cargo operations.

Fitted with an electric powertrain, a dual-speed automatic transmission, and reduced maintenance needs, the vehicle aims to lower operating expenses while enhancing payload efficiency. For delivery riders, this might result in increased deliveries each trip and improved income.

The logistics behemoth intends to merge the eCarts with its automated route optimization systems, enabling delivery partners to navigate routes more effectively while decreasing fuel expenses and carbon output.

"Our collaboration with Bajaj Auto addresses the economic well-being of our delivery partners while advancing both our environmental goals and those of our clients," says Prashant Gazipur, Chief Operating Officer, In-City Operations at Delhivery.

He mentioned that by integrating smart routing with effective cargo EVs, the firm intends to develop a delivery system that is more profitable for drivers, safer to manage, and more sustainable for enterprises pursuing reduced-carbon supply chains.

Furthermore, Delhivery introduced Abhayam, a thorough welfare initiative aimed at assisting around 100,000 frontline workers throughout India by providing accident insurance, healthcare services, family assistance, and financial security options. Launched on 22 June 2026 as the company celebrated its 15th anniversary, the initiative focuses on delivery workers and operations personnel, a workforce essential to India’s fast-growing logistics industry.

Central to the program is an accident insurance coverage of up to Rs 15 lakh, designed to shield workers from the financial consequences of unexpected events. The plan also provides health insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh, applicable not just to employees but also to their spouses and a maximum of two children.

Delhivery stated that the initiative was created to address the financial instability frequently experienced by frontline and gig workers, as a single medical crisis or hospitalization can greatly impact household budgets.

Apart from insurance, Abhayam provides income-loss coverage during hospitalization, opportunities for discounted medications, and healthcare assistance aimed at alleviating the impact of unforeseen medical costs.

The organization has also incorporated a robust family-oriented aspect into the initiative. Children of employees will qualify for scholarships, while spouses and daughters can take part in vocational training programs aimed at enhancing job readiness and income potential.
