Finance Minister to Table Economic Survey in Lok Sabha Today

The Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2025-26 will be presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha today.
The Economic Survey, compiled by the Economic Division within the Ministry of Finance's Department of Economic Affairs under the guidance of the Chief Economic Adviser, offers an evaluation of the economic landscape and significant metrics for the year 2025 – 2026 (April – March), as well as projections for the upcoming financial year.

According to the schedule, the Lok Sabha will commence proceedings with the Question Hour, in which inquiries submitted in advance will be posed and responded to by relevant ministers.
Subsequently, members of the Union Council of Ministers will present documents for review on the Table.
The Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, will present documents pertaining to the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA). Furthermore, a report evaluating the performance of AERA in New Delhi for the fiscal year 2024-2025 will be submitted to the legislative body.
Sitharaman is slated to present documents regarding the Ministry of Finance, whereas Murlidhar Mohol will present documents pertaining to the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

One of the main items to be addressed during the day's schedule is the official presentation of eight Bills that have been approved by both chambers of Parliament during the Sixth Session of the 18th Lok Sabha and have been subsequently endorsed by the President. These Bills will be formally presented by the Lok Sabha's Secretary General.
The House will also observe the delivery of the 13th Report of the Business Advisory Committee, to be presented by Kiren Rijiju and Kodikunnil Suresh, as per the agenda.
Furthermore, the Lok Sabha will address Matters under Rule 377, a parliamentary provision that permits Members of Parliament to bring attention to pressing issues of public significance. The Budget Session of Parliament began a day earlier.

The Budget Session is scheduled to have a duration of 30 meetings spread across a period of 65 days, ultimately ending on April 2. There will be a break from February 13 to March 9 to allow Standing Committees to examine the Demands for Grants.
