Tech giant Google has named Ragini Das to the position of Head of Startups for India. In this capacity, she will be responsible for assisting flourishing startup companies globally by linking them with appropriate contacts, resources, and proven strategies to facilitate their expansion.

Ragini Das brings more than 12 years of experience in developing consumer technology companies, including her work at Zomato and leap.club. Throughout her professional journey, she has also been employed by various organizations such as Aludecor, Standard Chartered Bank, and Trident Group.

Ragini perceives her life has come full circle since she failed to make it into the company in 2013 to now lead the company on its mission to support thriving startups.

Sharing a job update on professional networking site LinkedIn, Das wrote, “Life has come full circle, and I'm excited to share that I've joined Google as Head of Google for Startups - India”.

Sharing her journey, Das said that she sat for two interviews in 2013 — one at Google and one at Zomato. “I didn't make it through Google's last round, but I did get into Zomato — and those 6 years changed everything for me.,” she said.

According to Das, Zomato helped her “identify my career moat, gave me lifelong friends, an incredibly steep learning curve and the resilience to eventually take the leap and co-found leap.club”.

She then called leap.club her “most defining chapter”, adding that it gave her “purpose, an identity and, changed lives for thousands of women”.

“Through this journey, I had the privilege of connecting with founders who are tackling some of India's most pressing challenges. When we paused operations in June this year, I wasn't sure what the next decade would look like. I took time to relax, create art, get back into fitness, travel, pick up a few passion projects and spend countless hours photographing my dog, Jimmy,” she added.
