HCLTech to Enhance Operations for US Energy Supply Firm Just Energy

HCL Tech announced that it has been chosen by U.S.-based energy provider Just Energy to spearhead an AI-driven business transformation focused on enhancing operations and customer service.

The Indian IT services firm will utilize its Digital Process Outsourcing suite along with its GenAI platform, AI Force, to optimize Just Energy’s IT, finance, analytics, customer support, sales, and renewal processes.

HCL Tech will also roll out its digital workplace platform, digitalCOLLEAGUE, along with its business process improvement tool, Toscona, to boost collaboration and workforce productivity.

As part of this collaboration, HCLTech will offer its digital process outsourcing solutions and the generative AI platform, AI Force, to refine Just Energy’s internal operations. These encompass technology, finance, data analytics, customer service, sales, and contract renewals, all aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving customer engagement.

Alongside AI Force, HCLTech will deploy its digitalCOLLEAGUE platform, which provides a unified interface tailored for various job functions, and its Toscona suite, aimed at refining business operations. These resources are intended to enhance team coordination and facilitate more effective workflow management.

HCLTech’s participation is geared towards assisting Just Energy in overcoming operational hurdles and adapting to evolving customer demands through automation and digital enhancements. 

Ajay Bahl, the Chief Growth Officer for HCL Tech in the Americas, mentioned that this partnership would bolster Just Energy’s innovation agenda and elevate customer satisfaction.

HCL Tech, with a workforce of over 223,000 employees across 60 nations, reported earnings of $13.8 billion for the year ending March 2025.

In addition, HCLTech has entered into a strategic alliance with E.ON, one of the largest energy firms in Europe, which boasts a distribution network covering 1.6 million kilometers and serving approximately 47 million customers. This positions HCLTech as a crucial partner in E.ON's ongoing cloud transformation journey. 

As part of the new multi-year contract, HCLTech will create a new private cloud and deliver cloud and network management for E.ON's global hyperscaler operations. 

HCLTech will utilize its offerings, such as AI Force, to help E.ON scale hyperautomation and improve cloud and network maturity, facilitating its DevOps-driven, product-focused transformation. This partnership will allow E.ON to implement predictive operations, boost efficiency, drive innovation, and quickly adapt to changing market needs.
