HDFC Bank Promotes Kaizad Bharucha As MD

HDFC Bank announced on Thursday the appointment of Kaizad Bharucha as deputy managing director and Bhavesh Zaveri as executive director for a three-year term. These appointments were made following approval from the Reserve Bank of India, according to a regulatory filing by HDFC Bank.

The RBI accepted the appointment of Kaizad Bharucha as Deputy Managing Director of the bank for three years beginning April 19, 2023, according to a communication dated April 19, 2023.

It also authorised the appointment of Bhavesh Zaveri as the bank's executive director for a comparable period beginning April 19, 2023.

It further stated that a meeting of the Board of Directors will be called in the near future to put the appointments into effect.

Zaveri joined HDFC Bank in 1998 and rose through the ranks to become the business head of wholesale banking operations in 2000 and group head of operations in 2009. In 2015, he was given the additional responsibilities of the Information Technology department.

He had also contributed to the bank's digital transformation. Zaveri attended the RBI's Internal Payments Council Meeting and was a member of the Payments Committee of 2004, which resulted in the foundation of the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
