Hyundai Motor India Sales Fall Five Percent to 60,774 Vehicles

Hyundai Motor India reported that its total sales in April fell five percent year over year to 60,774 vehicles.

63,701 units were sold by the corporation in April of last year.

The carmaker reported that last month's sales were 44,374 units sold domestically and 16,400 units sold abroad.

As of April 2024, the company had sold 13,500 units abroad and 50,201 units domestically.

Additionally, it stated that since 1996, the company's total sales in India have surpassed 9 million.

"While the domestic market continues to face headwinds on account of various macroeconomic factors, we continue to champion 'Make in India, Made for the World' emphasising the company's strong focus on exports," Hyundai Motor India COO Tarun Garg said.

In comparison to the same period last year, this has led to a strong 21.5 percent year-over-year increase in export volumes in April 2025 and a 16.2 percent growth from January to April 2025, he continued.

 

Due to decreasing demand for both passenger and commercial vehicles, Tata Motors Ltd.'s total sales decreased in April 2025.

The largest truckmaker in India saw an eight percent year-over-year decline in CV sales last month, from 29,538 units to 27,221 units. The Nexon manufacturer's PV sales dropped five percent year over year to 45,532 units. At 5,318 units, the EV business decreased by 16 percent.

Over the course of the month, Tata Motors shipped 72,753 units, down 6.1 percent year over year from 77,521 units in April 2024.

On Thursday, Kia India reported that its domestic sales in April climbed 18 percent year over year to 23,623 units.

In April 2024, the company shipped 19,968 units to dealers.

According to the corporation, it sold 6,135 mid-sized SUV Seltos and 8,068 Sonets last month.

Furthermore, Kia India said that Carens sales totaled 5,259 units, with the recently introduced Syros contributing 4,000 units to the total.

It also stated that 161 units were contributed to the monthly numbers by the luxury MPV Carnival Limousine.

According to the firm, its new product, Clavis, will be unveiled on May 8.

According to the automaker, the cutting-edge product, which is especially made to satisfy the wide range of consumer demands, is ready to establish new benchmarks in the market.
