IBM has appointed longtime Nokia executive Stephen Rose as the company’s general manager to lead the Global Telco, Media, Entertainment & Distribution vertical. In his new role, Rose will be driving ‘multi-billion dollar P&L delivering technology, products and solutions to Communications Services Providers and Enterprise clients’, according to his Linkedin profile.
The New York-headquartered services firm in statement to Light Reading confirmed the development. Rose is taking over from Steve Canepa, who is now the general manager of IBM Global Industries. Rose will appoint to Canepa, the report said.

In His New Role, Rose Will Be Driving ‘Multi-Billion Dollar P&L Delivering Technology, Products And Solutions To Communications Services Providers And Enterprise Clients


Rose most recently worked at Nokia Bell Labs where he was responsible for the company’s global telco practice, working across the C-Suite of CSPs, CSP for Enterprise, TMT Investors and Regulators. Prior to starting his stint at Nokia in 2010, Rose worked at Western Wireless and LCC, a Tech Mahindra company.
