IHCL to Open India's First All Women-managed Luxury Residences -Taj Wellington Mews in Chennai

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), South Asia’s largest hospitality company has announced India’s first all-women-managed luxury residences, Taj Wellington Mews in Chennai to open on coming April 2021. Company made this initiative is in line with on-going labours creating an unbiased workplace and ecosystem for empowering women in the hospitality industry.

Rakhee Lalvani, Vice President – Public Relations, IHCL states that “Women at IHCL have played a very vital role in the organisation with their contribution and by pushing boundaries. The upcoming Taj Wellington Mews, Chennai managed by an all women team is a testament to the Group’s commitment towards improving the gender balance in the organization with a vibrant workforce and by providing equal opportunities to women across roles and positions.”

Taj Wellington Mews concludes of 112 spaciously and luxuriously prearranged residences, managed by a woman General Manager and a team of over 100 women across all operations and other departments and it is advantageously located in the Old Mahabalipuram the IT corridor of Chennai. The property will generate employment locally, providing growth opportunities for women employees within the Company itself.
