India, US Deepen Cooperation in AI, Chips, Critical Minerals

India and the United States conducted a private roundtable that included high-ranking government officials and industry executives to enhance collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor supply chains, and essential minerals, with both nations aiming to reinforce their strategic technology alliance.
In a Friday post on X, the Indian Embassy in the United States emphasized the importance of the meeting, stating, "Together, we secure the foundations of AI!"

The embassy stated that Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra, MeitY Secretary S Krishnan, and US Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce Bill Guidera spoke to a group of Indian and American firms involved in semiconductors, critical minerals, and AI.

The message stated, "Ambassador @AmbVMKwatra, Secretary MeiTY S. Krishnan, and Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce Bill Guidera held a closed-door roundtable with a cohort of Indian and US firms focusing on chips, essential minerals, and AI, arranged by the Embassy in collaboration with USISPF and Silverado Policy Accelerator." Participating in the discussions were Additional Secretary (Americas) Nagaraj Naidu from MEA, USISPF President Mukesh Aghi, and DAS Christopher Saldana from DoE.

The embassy stated that the talks included Additional Secretary (Americas) Nagaraj Naidu from the Ministry of External Affairs, USISPF (US-India Strategic Partnership Forum) President Mukesh Aghi, and Deputy Assistant Secretary Christopher Saldana from the US Department of Energy.

The embassy noted that the roundtable aimed at enhancing the investment landscape and broadening cooperation on AI between both sides.
It stated, "Conversations centered on tackling common obstacles to investment, establishing sustainable demand signals, and exploring chances for AI collaboration across different tiers, including frontier and application."
