Inspira Global Names Umesh Shankarlal Varma as Group Head of IT

Inspira Global has named Umesh Shankarlal Varma as the Group Head of Information Technology, overseeing technology strategy, digital transformation, technology governance, and IT operations throughout its portfolio, which includes Lenexis Foodworks, Inspira Realty, and Seva Home.

In his new position, Varma will guide the group's technology strategy, emphasizing business and digital transformation, scalable technology infrastructure, data, AI and analytics capabilities, IT governance and cost efficiency, along with cybersecurity, risk management, and technological resilience.

Varma possesses more than 18 years of expertise in technology and digital transformation in sectors like QSR, retail, fashion, and consumer industries.

He arrives at Inspira Global from Sapphire Foods India, where he was the Head of IT Products & POS and directed the creation and launch of a proprietary POS system and Order Management System, aiming for Rs.120 million in yearly cost reductions. He increased the product organization from four to 23 members.

Previously, at Aditya Birla Retail and More Retail, Varma developed the company's initial web and mobile ordering systems and was instrumental in expanding the Amazon Fresh order management framework from zero to Rs.300 crore in revenue.

At Inspira Global, Varma will collaborate with the leadership teams of Lenexis Foodworks, Inspira Realty, and Seva Home to create a unified technology vision and operational structure while catering to the specific technology needs of each company.

For Lenexis Foodworks, his role will involve enhancing digital capabilities within its QSR operations, facilitating scalable store technology, and optimizing customer and operational platforms. At Inspira Realty and Seva Home, he will concentrate on online customer experiences, sales and CRM systems, automating business processes, making data-informed decisions, and cohesive enterprise technology solutions.

Throughout the group, Varma will additionally supervise unified standards for IT governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, technology architecture, vendor management, and cost efficiency.
