The Telecom Ministry has given additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director of the company to Shri Rakesh Mohan Agarwal, who is currently heading the marketing department. The changes will take effect from October 1, 2019 following the retirement of Shri K. Alagesan, who was serving as director for production and had an additional charge of CMD.
An alumnus of University of Roorkee and Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur, Shri R.M. Agarwal joined the board of directors of ITI on June 8, 2016 as a government nominee director. He was appointed as director for marketing and assumed charge on April 27, 2018. He holds a rich experience of 28 years in the field of policy formulation, standardization planning, operation and maintenance of telecom services.

Shri. R.M. Agarwal has worked as DDG (NT), DoT and was involved in policy formulation for adoption & implementation of new technologies like IPv6, M2M and Cloud computing by Indian telecom & IT industry. He brought out the ‘National IPv6 Deployment Roadmap v2’ in March 2013 and Compendium on IPv6 Based Solutions/ Architecture/ Case Studies for time-bound

ITI is the India’s first Public Sector Unit (PSU), established as a departmental factory in 1948. In 1950, ITI was incorporated as a Private Limited company. Ever since, it has contributed significantly to the country’s national telecom network. With manufacturing facilities spread across five locations and a countrywide network of marketing/service outlets, the company offers a range of telecom products and total solutions covering the spectrum of Switching, Transmission, Access and Subscriber Premises equipment.

The company has a diverse suite of products including defence security encryption products; optical and data network products and passive infrastructure products such as gigabit passive optical network and manage leased line products; multi-capacity encryption units, electrical products such as smart energy meters, smart cards, solar panels, set-top boxes and mini personal computers and Internet of Things products. Besides offering the telecom solutions and customized support, ITI has a dedicated Network System Unit for executing turnkey projects for installation and commissioning of telecommunication networks.
