
Japan’s Speaker of the House of Representatives Nukaga Fukushiro Visits the Tata Semiconductor Assembly

According to reports, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, welcomed and received the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro, along with his delegation at the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility in Jagiroad, spending time with them.
It is noteworthy that the Japanese delegation, headed by the Speaker, is on the second day of their three-day visit to Assam and toured the under-construction site of Tata's Semiconductor Assembly and Test Plant in Jagiroad to observe the facility's development firsthand.
While greeting the delegation, Chief Minister Himanta noted that the visit by the Japanese Speaker and his high-powered team to the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility signifies an important and favorable opportunity for attracting Japanese investments to Assam.
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining ongoing collaboration between Japanese organizations and the Government of Assam, Himanta pointed out that Assam has hosted four Japanese delegations within a short period, highlighting the strengthening bilateral relations between the two regions.
The Chief Minister stated that Japan has removed all limitations on tourists traveling to Assam and is already extending support to the state in crucial sectors such as health and infrastructure.
Himanta mentioned that Japan has been a world leader in semiconductor technology for a long time, and its engagement in this sector in Assam is expected to enhance the region's technological skills and stimulate economic growth.
He expressed optimism that the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility will provide local youth with job opportunities, allowing them to work within the state rather than seeking employment elsewhere.

According to the Assam Chief Minister, Minister of Water ResourcesPijush Hazarika, Minister of Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises, Bimal Bora, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Nandita Gorlosa, Project Head, Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility, Asish Mishra, senior officers and a host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
