Kohinoor Biswas Named As BharatPe's Head Of Consumer Lending Business
BharatPe, a fintech firm, announced the appointment of Kohinoor Biswas as the Head of Consumer Lending business, and that he will oversee all PostPe operations. "At BharatPe, he (Biswas) will be responsible for leading the entire Postpe business, the credit-first consumer vertical of BharatPe," the company stated in a prepared statement.
Biswas will report to Nalin Negi, the CFO and interim CEO, and will be in charge of developing the consumer lending vertical. Biswas previously worked at ICICI Bank as the Head of Credit Cards Portfolio, where he oversaw the overall credit card strategy that drove card spends and loyalty.
IIM Calcutta alumnus was also the vertical head for Credit Card Portfolio at HDFC Bank. He has also worked for companies such as Intellect Design Arena Ltd, JP Morgan Chase, and American Express. "Postpe, despite being a late entrant in the consumer category, was a huge success from the start." I am thrilled to be joining the BharatPe team as Head of Consumer Lending. "I am excited to strengthen our existing relationships with Postpe customers by introducing new credit products as well as new payment and commerce use cases," Biswas said.
With the launch of 'Postpe' in 2021, BharatPe announced its entry into the 'Buy Now Pay Later' (BNPL) category. This is BharatPe's third leadership appointment in 2023. Aparna Kuppuswamy has been named Chief Risk Officer for the BharatPe Group, and Sandeep Indurkar has been named Chief Business Officer - Banking and Alliances.
