The leading South Korean gaming company, KRAFTON, Inc., plans to invest $150 million in India over the next two to three years. As part of its India-first strategy, KRAFTON will invest in the Indian start-up ecosystem and foster holistic growth of the gaming segment in the coming years. Since its first investment in March 2021, the company claims to have invested approximately $140 million in 11 innovative Indian start-ups.

"We are excited to foster the growth of India's start-up ecosystem and are committed to having a transformative impact not only in the gaming and technology industries, but also in the broader content landscape," said Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India. We believe in India's potential as a global player in the gaming and technology industries, and our commitment to invest an additional $150 million over the next two to three years demonstrates our commitment to accelerating this growth. We believe in the long-term global impact of Indian IPs and content, and we are excited to reach new milestones in our journey to realise the country's full potential as a global gaming powerhouse."

KRAFTON's investment philosophy is centred on delivering strategic value that goes beyond monetary contributions by leveraging its expertise and experiences in the segments in which it invests. Aside from game development studios, the company's investments include Esports, multimedia entertainment, content creation, and audio platforms, among others.

KRAFTON has recently broadened its focus to include the creator economy and deep tech, actively supporting start-ups in these emerging sectors. KRFATON intends to use this investment to develop local talent, foster innovation, and propel India to the forefront of the global gaming industry.
