Mashreq Appoints Vivek Batra as Global Head of Transaction Banking
Mashreq, a prominent financial institution in the MENA region, is pleased to announce the appointment of Vivek Batra as the new Global Head of Transaction Banking. In this role, Vivek will oversee Global Transaction Banking across Mashreq Group, spearheading innovative strategies to strengthen GTB’s role as a key driver of the Group’s growth and market leadership vision.
Vivek brings to his new role a wealth of experience in senior roles across the banking sector, including as Head of Transaction Banking for MUFG’s Asia GTB business, Global Sales Head for GTB at DBS. He has also acted as a Senior Adviser with BCG, helping banks deliver and execute their digital and transaction banking strategies.

In his new role, Vivek will focus on commercializing the capabilities offered by the new Mashreq NEO CORP platform, which includes cash management, collections, documentary trade, and supply chain finance. He will also drive the expansion of the business across international markets and lead efforts to tap into new digital banking and industry ecosystems, leveraging Mashreq's advanced tech stack and market-leading digital capabilities.

Vivek has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (equivalent to an MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai University.
