Neeraj Chopra, a two-time Olympic medallist, recently revealed his decision to discontinue his ten-year partnership with JSW Sports. This development coincided with the launch of his new athlete management company, Vel Sports.

He reminisced about the crucial role this partnership played in shaping his early career, recognizing it as a pivotal factor in his most prosperous professional era.

“Over the last decade, our journey together has been one of growth, belief, and achievement. JSW Sports has played a defining role in my career, and I’ll always remain grateful for their support and vision,” Chopra says.

“As we conclude this chapter, I carry forward the same values into the next phase of my journey,” he adds.

Chopra established a partnership with JSW Sports in 2016 after being initially discovered through the JSW Sports Excellence Program (SEP), which was a pivotal moment signifying the commencement of a highly prosperous athlete-management voyage in India. The transition was characterized by both parties as being marked by profound respect and a sense of achievement.

In 2021, Chopra made history by becoming the first Indian athlete to secure a gold medal in track and field at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. He continued his success with another gold medal at the 2023 World Championships and a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Games.
