Philipp Navratil, the CEO of Nestle, has issued an apology to the customers of the Swiss company for the withdrawal of certain batches of infant nutrition products in numerous countries.

"Before I explain the situation in ‌more ‍detail, I ‍first want to apologize sincerely ‌for the worry and disruption this may have caused parents, caregivers ‍and our customers," Navratil said in ‍a video published by the company.

Navratil stated that all recalls have been previously communicated and underscored that safeguarding consumer safety has been Nestle's top concern.

He said that recall of the affected batches was done as a precautionary measure after an internal quality check revealed that there could be a compromise on the strict safety standards of the company.

Although there are no serious health concerns that have been established yet, Nestle opted to move fast in an attempt to limit any potential risk.

In the video message, Navratil outlined the steps the company is taking to address the situation. These include enhanced testing of products, a thorough review of manufacturing processes at the impacted facilities, and close cooperation with food safety authorities in each affected country.

He also noted that the unhampered products are still safe to consume and they still satisfy all the regulatory and quality standards.

Nestlé has set up dedicated customer support channels to assist parents and caregivers, offering guidance on how to identify recalled batches and arrange refunds or replacements.

Retailers and distributors have been instructed to remove the impacted products from shelves immediately, and the company said it is monitoring compliance closely across markets.
