MP Cabinet Approves Implementation of Space Tech Policy 2026

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, presided over a cabinet meeting at the state secretariat in Bhopal. During the meeting, the council of ministers approved various important initiatives, including the SpaceTech Policy-2026.
The Cabinet has given its approval for the adoption of the Madhya Pradesh SpaceTech Policy-2026.

This decision was made after taking into account the presence of 322 industrial parks, electronics manufacturing clusters, 31 GW power supply, reputable educational institutions, and a conducive environment in the state.
The goal is to encourage the development of space-grade manufacturing. The policy aims to encourage advancements in satellite manufacturing, geospatial analysis, and downstream applications.
It is projected that over the course of the next five years, the policy will draw in investments totaling Rs 1,000 crore and create around 8,000 job opportunities, resulting in an estimated financial impact of Rs 628 crore. The Cabinet has endorsed the introduction of the Fourth Time Scale Scheme for Assistant Teachers, educators within the academic discipline, and Primary and Middle School Teachers belonging to the new teaching cadre upon reaching 35 years of service by July 1, 2023.
A total sum of Rs 322.34 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose. The council of ministers also sanctioned a projected budget allocation of Rs 3,660 crore for the development of 200 comprehensive SandipSchools in the subsequent phase. The anticipated student capacity of each of the planned schools during this phase will exceed 1,000.

Furthermore, in light of Simhastha-2028, the Cabinet approved the Ujjain city water augmentation scheme with a budget of Rs 1,133.67 crore. The council of ministers made a significant decision by approving a 50 percent discount on motor vehicle tax for the purchase of automobiles at the Gwalior Trade Fair-2026 and Ujjain Vikramotsav Trade Fair-2026.
The Cabinet has sanctioned funds exceeding Rs 898 crore for irrigation projects in the regions of Rajgarh and Raisen. In addition, an allocation of Rs 5,000 crore has been authorized for a three-year period (FY 2026-27 to 2028-29) under the "Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme - Phase V" for the enhancement of infrastructure in all urban local bodies of the state.

The program will involve various types of projects, including the construction of primary roads according to a master plan, infrastructure improvements for road safety and urban traffic management, ensuring full coverage of drinking water supply, sewage systems, completion of ongoing projects, implementation of drainage systems, construction of sewage treatment plants, and other critical initiatives identified by the state government.
For infrastructure development in all urban local bodies of the state, approval has been granted for Rs 5,000 crore for three years (FY 2026-27 to 2028-29) under the ‘Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme - Phase V’.
The Cabinet also granted approval for the establishment of a Cabinet Committee tasked with determining the Excise Policy for the fiscal year 2026-2027.
