PhysicsWallah Names Sumit Rewri as CEO of its New UPSC Division
PhysicsWallah (PW), India's only profitable edtech platform, named Sumit Rewri as CEO of its new UPSC vertical, PW OnlyIAS, on Tuesday.
PW and OnlyIAS partnered in October of last year.
With 8 years of UPSC preparation experience, Rewri built a strong community of over 1.33 million students on the OnlyIAS Youtube channel, where he guided and mentored them to strengthen their preparation.
OnlyIAS, with a team of more than 200 people, has become a leading choice for UPSC aspirants under Rewri, an engineer who worked at TCS until 2014.
"We will focus on quality content, implementing new-age teaching practices, and working extensively on students' demands. We are most confident that together we will bring innovation to UPSC preparation," said Alakh Pandey, CEO and Founder, PW.
According to Rewri, at PW OnlyIAS, "we will provide UPSC aspirants with the best technology-enhanced educational content."
PhysicsWallah, founded in 2020 by Pandey, a popular YouTube teacher, and Prateek Maheshwari, raised $100 million in June last year from WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures at a valuation of $1.1 billion.
PW is India's 101st unicorn, preparing students for a variety of competitive exams such as GATE, UPSC, CDS, SSC, Railways, Banking, CTET, and CA.
