Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to mark a historic occasion for the Indian Railways by initiating, inaugurating, and dedicating over 2,000 railway infrastructure projects valued at more than Rs 41,000 crore. The Prime Minister shared this significant announcement on Twitter, emphasizing the transformative impact of these developments on the nation's rail network.

In a noteworthy move to elevate the travel experience, 553 railway stations are slated for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The foundation stones for these stations will be laid, contributing to a total investment exceeding Rs 19,000 crore. These revamped stations, situated across 27 states and Union Territories, are envisioned as central hubs with modern amenities, green spaces, intermodal connectivity, and a focus on environmental and accessibility considerations.

As part of the initiative to enhance railway stations, the Prime Minister will unveil the redeveloped Gomti Nagar station in Uttar Pradesh. With a total investment of approximately Rs 385 crore, this centrally air-conditioned station boasts segregated arrival and departure facilities, modern amenities, and efficient circulation. The station aligns with the goal of integrating both sides of the city and accommodating future passenger influx.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate 1,500 Road Over Bridges and Underpasses. Spanning 24 states and Union Territories, these projects, totaling around Rs 21,520 crore, aim to alleviate congestion, enhance safety, improve connectivity, and boost the overall efficiency of rail travel.
