According to reports, multiplex operator PVR INOX has partnered with VISA, to drive seamless, secure, and contactless Mobile-based tap to pay transactions. The initiative will run for six months across 160 cinemas in the top eight metro cities of India.

Cinema attendees can now utilize their Android, NFC-compatible smartphones to tap and pay with Visa cards for transactions at PVR INOX theaters. By adopting Mobile tap to pay, PVR INOX and Visa are enhancing transactions to be quicker, safer, and more convenient, establishing a new standard for digital-first cinema experiences. At PVR INOX outlets, this will promote tap-to-pay as the safest and most convenient payment option for moviegoers.

The collaboration provides unique benefits to Visa credit and debit card users in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Pune, enriching their movie experience:

Complimentary Popcorn-Pepsi Combo: Patrons who buy tickets for Rs. Anyone spending 1,000 or more at the box office using Visa's Mobile tap to pay feature will get a free popcorn and Pepsi combo. 20 percent Off on Food & Drinks: Film fans can take advantage of a straight 20 percent off (limited to Rs. 500) on food and drink purchases when using Visa’s Mobile tap to pay at PVR INOX locations. Rs 200 Discount on High-Value F&B Transactions: Customers utilizing their Visa cards for tapping and paying Rs.
