Revolut Venturing India Could Create 200 Job Opportunities The fintech startup Revolut is planning to enter the Indian market this year. As the Britain-based banking app marks its debut in the country, it may pave the way for close to 200 jobs opportunities in India.

Nikolay Storonsky, co-founder, Revolut says, “I am amazed at the quality of talent in India. We’re actually hiring around 200 people in India at the moment.”

In spite of announcing its strategy to strech into new markets amid the pandemic, Nikolay is confident that the startup would be able to take on India’s competitive environment. As per to him, the company offers unique services that aren’t available on any other platform such as commission-free stock trading and international money transfers without any charge.

Furthermore, India is not the only market Revolut is trying its luck on. In October 2019, the company had announced that it would be streching into 24 new markets and including close to 3,500 people to its staff. This would increase its headcount from 1,500 to around 5,000.

A burgeoning fintech startup has often been lauded as ‘the place to be’ for freshers looking to hone their skills and gain extensive experience. On the other hand, working in the startup world is not without its uncertainties.

However, post the pandemic, over 50 people within Revolut’s staff claimed that they had been asked to either quit their jobs voluntarily or be fired in Poland and Portugal, says Wired report.

These reports may hints that the high-pressure environment may not be everyone’s cup of tea although certain types of employees could still thrive in such an environment. Even those who stick around for a short period of time could be able to use the experience to add skills to their curriculum.
